Ignorance but what's the big deal with wireless carriers allowing VOIP?
Does the VOIP apps mask themselves as data usage therefore not using you're minutes? Where's the money savings?
What are the pros & cons?

No, not mask. VoIP is data. Anything transferred over IP (Internet Protocol) is, by definition, packet switched data.

yeah, that and the fact that the voice quality remains unknown. Skype sucks because it's choppy. I could only imagine how anyone would sound on VoIP...

Ever give it a thought, AT&T etal, now sell more data plans, from $15 to $30 if its them or VZW, adds more to the bottom line.

I believe data is the future of the business. Eventually, there won't be any distinction between voice and data.

Yep, not long ago, there was some software releassed for carriers to test voice of LTE. So what you said is indeed inline with the future.
