Times change.

I gladly scarifice my 79 cent lighter when i get on a plane to feel more secure that someone else isnt bringing something on that can blow us up in the air.

If you'd like I can try to find really old quotes about how the earth is flat, and the center of the universe.

I just thought you should be able to pick up one at the destination airport that someone had to leave. Seems fair 😁

Actually, Ben Franklin says, "Do not misrepresent me. I know how to spell. And I do not take quotes 250 years out of context."

The lack of logic & intelligence on this board (and in society in general) continues to disappoint...

Ben franklin also never had microwaves, but in the cell phone handbooks it has a warning to not put your cell phone in the microwave! Realy? Sometimes the obvious needs to be stated. I think we need to teach our kids some common sence! Lack of teaching is a big part of why people have to be told this crap.

It may have been miss spelled, but it is not out of context, the context was in relation to how Governments and poeple relate and how to preserve Liberty...

But as a relation to Employment with the Gov. the Gov does have the right. And Trucks as part of interstate commerce also the Fed Gov has the right... But for in state commerce it is a States Rights Issue, but I am sure Obamma does not care and will trample the 10th amendment again

No, it is out of context. Major grievances 250 years ago that led to the American Revolution are not comparable to trivial complaints today over a potential prohibition on cell phone usage while driving. Anyone who thinks otherwise lacks both a thorough understanding of history and a serious dose of perspective.

As an aside, read up on social contract theory & utilitarianism. And you, too, learn how to spell.

Lastly, it is ironic that the hoi polloi who are obviously not intelligent enough to be prominent, capable gove...

To paraphrase the other poster who quoted Samuel Johnson: "A cry of elitism is the last refuge of someone who is overmatched & outwitted."

You should be pleased when the intellectual elite have greater insight than you do. Those are the people who should be our elected representatives and appointed officials. The alternative is the administration of George W. Bush.

I have no problem admitting someone is smarter than me. Nor do I have a problem with someone using more eloquent language than me. With that said, this is not a submission that you have demonstrated either of the two.

Thinking you outwit and over match every person you try to refute is mind-numbing. You and your Obama friend think alike...

First I want to say I think I love WIWavelength! Secondly its not what he thinks that makes him above you and people like you. Its is his knowledge base and his ability to learn the facts about a subject before opening his mouth about it. How many times does this guy have to B slap you with his knowledge before you guys stop posting moronic babel?

The sad part is that there are people who truly believe that the government is better able to think for them than they themselves are. These people are always the first to look to the government to solve their problems for them. Folks the government cannot even balance a budget. They do stupid things like declare there is a surplus when we are trillions of dollars in debt just because one year we spent less money than they thought we would and rather than pay down the debt a little with the excess, they declared it Christmas and sent out "free money" to their constituents. This is Democrats and Republicans.
