The reason this phone is higher in price is because it includes the premium for the GPS maps up front, but you DO NOT have to pay for the service (including the voice turn-by-turn). In order to get the premium services (gas prices, movie times, etc.), you pay $5.99 a month for that. Personally, I think it's a good selling point for the phone and will make it decently popular for the people willing to shell out the cash (no GPS cost for the lifetime of the product? not bad!).

Also, Google Maps is good and all, and yes, it is free, but the ONLY reason it's free is because so many people use Google.com that the advertisements pay for things Google does. If it wasn't for that, Google would have to charge for a lot of the services they offer f...

so i have to pay 300$ and 2 years contract to use this included GPS program?
all pdaPhones got build-in GPS these days!
i can get GPS programs for pdaphone for under 100buk!
example: Iguidance 2009, tomtom, oncourse, etc

Actually I will correct your incorrect statement, all PDAs due to not have a GPS antenna, so they use cellular towers to give you inaccurate directions. This new phone is a hardcore GPS phone for those that GPS is complete needed
