you're wrong. google is blocking numbers to legit area codes in the USA because of the termination cost associated with those calls. some rural carriers charge 11 - 20 cents per call to terminate a call. google doesn't want to pay that. seriously, why are you posting this **** if your dumbass doesn't know what your talking about???????? please give me an intelligent answer? people like you make the issue even worse because you don't know why you are for or against the issue... what calls are google letting t...

GV is a free app, it is also a beta app (meaning it is not "commercial ready.")
They offer international calling for a fee (except canada, as listed) who is to say they're not working on a way to build in these insane disconnect fee areas into that international calling pack?
If the app was out of beta, or if they were charging for it, ATT might have a case.
At the moment, it makes about as much sense as their attack on Verizon's 3g ads. They might have a quasi-valid point, but all they are doing is highlighting their own shortcomings.

B) Google is not a telecom. The fact is they don't have to abide by the same rules as the regular phone companies. And again, nobody is paying for this service, it's free. If you don't like not being able to reach certain numbers then don't use it, if it was that important ppl would be willing to pay.
Google's primary revenue source is advertising. Who pays the advertisers? That's right you do. They pass the cost of advertising with Google on to you.
In many ways, Google's scheme is less fair. After all, their services are built into the cost of what everyone buys, but not everyone uses their services.
If you're using Google Voice, just keep in mind that it's coming out of someone's pocket and people who don't use it are paying higher prices somewhere so you can get something for "free".
