wireles for us all

I live with a metal exterior & must have wi/fi. The carriers that have the best(?) phones don't have their towers near me, where I travel ,same, no towers. I firmly believe wi/fi_wireless spectrum should be manatory for us all. Yea some make us pay for it but what else is new.
So what do you think?

Mandatory sounds like a price hike or higher taxes to me. The government works best that meddles least.

True what you say but I look at life a little different, I recieve no raise this year & must pay with everyone else but wirelesss, wi/fi is already out with another org. for phones, so why can't we have it? It's faster & they make mi/fi... so you could also be your own antenna.

you had no raise this year.. so would you be ok with paying an extra $15 a month to be able to use your phone as a VOIP device with wifi? what about $20?

Also, if a lot of people started using wifi for phone calls, expect to see a decrease in the number of "free" hotspots.

So because YOU need it, it should be mandatory for all of us?

Unless I'm taking what you said the wrong way, that's a pretty effed up idea. I personally have no need at all for Wi-fi. (although it is convenient when I feel like running both my laptops for some reason)

As long as the phone can wi/fi, Huawei has i-MO which will solve (at least) my problems.

OK? That's great for you, but I was saying that I shouldn't have to pay for mandated wi-fi access on my phone since I never use it - which is what your original post seemed to imply is what you would like to see.

MAybe I'm just not understanding you right. But as long as you have something that works for you the way things are now, then 😁

My post relates for the need inside my home, Huawei relates to the need in/out my home. Inclusion with my modem should not be charged for.

I've read every entry in this thread twice and still don't understand your original comment/question.

Are you talking about mandating wi-fi in all cell phones, mandating VOIP access on all handsets, or simply looking for a way to get indoor coverage in a large metal box?

Which question are you really asking here?

Forgive my ignorance but I do think all phones should have wi/fi, (next week I'll be getting a web cam & new speakers for my PC my modem already has wireless which I pay for but my cells should have wi/fi)& yes also for my metal box(lol). As many charges we pay I think wi/fi is a probable means, it's fast & can be carried with you everywhere & we wouldn't need to keep paying, short cut from unwanted finances true but an education how we can have for our own. Does this make sense?

Ok this is the 2nd time I'm answering, I have wireless on my modem, I think all phones should have wi/fi, regardless I need wi/fi in my 'metal box' so I can get reception. Outside wi/fi is acceptional concidering the location of towers & what carriers you have. The units are & soon will be sold that wi/fi will give reception even if there is no carrier. So again I say all 'phones' should have wi/fi. Modems carring wireless is an expence paid, not one I would like to pay. So wireless is something that should be included for us all. May sound stupid but I know of some that do not have carriers & only wi/fi. Give & take, some pay some don't & for us who do pay wireless should be for everyone. OK?

Born, Bred, Fought for the USA. My ignorance with this computer age is large, I'm teaching myself - within the last 2 years. Grief comes to me in many ways from all that seem (& do) know so much more than I. Regretfully, my spelling depreciates over the years, thank goodness for 'check spelling'. Wireless, I have with my AT&T, I pay for it, which I think should be included. Wi/Fi I think should be with every cell phone. Portable wi/fi is & is needed when out of range of towers.
For those that have no carrier use wi/fi.
Do you get it now?

With Respect, I ask you cellstudent, if at my age I too am a cellstudent, will you contribute some of your knowledge to this matter. Thank you. PS I wish this word "What" is removed.
