instead of research on making battery last longer, all they can do is make it safer??
how often do you get batteries to explode or a fire?

You would be suprized at how meny people really do have over heating issues with their phones. It's not really common but come on people are you that stupid if you feel your phones getting hot don't common seance tell you if the phones getting hot I would take my phone off the charger and take the battery out of the phone and let it cool down. And the I would call my service provider. And some phones will let you know when the battery is over heating. So yeah I agree they should be making a battery that last longer!

We have had 2 explode on us in our company in laptops and 4 of them sent back on exploding battery recalls. Even the airlines ban Lith ion in large quantities for this reason.

Good job being ignorant 🤣

"How often do you get batteries to explode or fire"? you ask.

I suppose only once because you would probably end up burning up with it. :-)

Although I've never had a full out battery explosion, I have had some overheat on me. So I would welcome any type of technology improvements that prevent lithium ion battery overheating/explosions. But in the same light, and as stated in these posts, battery technology should be much further along than what it is today. Instead of batteries that give sufficient energy for a device to stay powered on for, at best, a day or two (with use), it should be more in the range of two to three weeks.

And me being a bored security guard, I'm a very, very heavy user with my Nokia N95. I even carry a spare battery in my pocket. So yeah battery tech has a very, very long ways to go. I'd like to see more 1700+mah batteries in smartphones.

This isn't just for cell phones but laptops as well. And see the cool thing is just because one group is working on making them safer doesn't mean there isn't another group working on making them last longer. Your thinking is simple, you need to see the bigger picture. If they make the batteries safer they can push them harder.

I will agree though battery tech is years behind what phone tech is at.
