my cell phone in 2002 had MMS. though for the record, i think its apple's fault, not at&t, that it took this long to get such a basic feature.

Wow mature. It is mainly ATT's fault. Their weak data network is already so stressed to the max, and they wanted to do some inhancements before they allowed this feature to the public.

The iPhone wasn't enabled for MMS by even Apple so it isn't AT&T's fault.

I will say this whole "My free phone can do MMS" is getting old...come up with something original...

Do you mean the Knock Offs? If so, yes. For example, the I9 can do MMS yesterday and today.

My BlackBerry, Touch Pro, E815, etc. has been able to do MMS since day one, and all of them can do things the iPhone can't, like work reliably, and have their batteries changed by ME, etc.

Seriously, the iPhone isn't all that. Outside the multi touch screen, I can't think of much the Touch Pro/2 Diamond/2 can't do.

That's great, again, not AT&T's fault. That's a feature Apple chose not to include with their iPhones...

I've not had any problems with my iPhone. I'ved used all of the phones you've mentioned and my iPhone trumps them all and I've worked in Wireless for about three years now. I was heavily bias to Blackberry then tried the Touch Pro out and found it was a pretty solid phone. Still Windows Mobile, but good. My iPhone still works much better than those phones. But...that's just me.

I don't get this. Coming from someone who mentions his/her 3 year experience with cellphone sales, this, honestly, makes no sense to me at all.

You was bias to Blackberry and then tried a Touch Pro? Was you aware that Touch Pro is not a Blackberry? I am so confused.

Of course it's ATTs fault, every other carrier in the world that offers the Iphone has it MMS enabled.

Yeah I am going to agree with it being att's fault. The iPhone has MMS with T-mobile (obviously hacked) So it is carrier involved

the way i've heard it explained is that at&t actually routes MMS over internet/media net via the phones email and the iphone didn't have the profile to recieve, therefore either apple needed to change it or att had to do a network overhaul. Somehow att is doing the network overhaul to keep this thing. What I don't know is the driving force that att would truly give a crap about no MMS on the most bandwidth hog phone ever? It will further hinder the entire network.

Everything about that phone is special, for better or for worse.

Wish I could take back some of the things I said about the Iphone. Some of them, though true, aren't the point anymore.

See, about 2 days (Sunday night) I was having a debate about the cell phone industry with a friend. We tend to debate a lot and about pretty much anything. This is how our friendship is, was and will be, by choice.

Anyway, in this particular debate, we were talking about the possibility of the Iphone on other providers and what impact it may or may not cause.

Long story short, we both reached a agreement (very rare, we usual will debate no matter if we are right or wrong for the pure sake of debating, but, sometimes we do agree because debating would take too much effort).

didn't sprint have one of the first camera phones? wasn't that in 2003? who were you sending mms with in 2002? i could absolutely be wrong about this, but i can say for sure that sending pics would have been hard when just a handful of users had a device capable of taking and sending pics. the iphone was far behind for sure, and that's one of the reasons i got rid of it. if it had this feature when i had it, and was on a network that didn't charge over 9000 a month to have it, i would most definitely still be a user. i loved that darn phone.

att simply needs to remove all the opt out mms features off everyones iphone account and the iphone is good..att is to blame for this..the iphone would have been able to do this long ago..
blame att thats about it..they already are predicting alot of system crashes after the enable it from so many people sending mms and downloading the updates..

more like hello 1998...i had voicestream back then with a nokia bar phone, that even had mms on it. this is a scam and its funny how some people dont realize that. apple tosses in a few preexisting features or activates them and craps out a new model iphone. plus no insurance and an embedded battery, i think i'll spend my smart phone money else where like on an android phone. fanboys dont bother replying - you cant silence the truth 🤣
