Does anybody use a home phone anymore?

We have 2 landlines with AT&T, one for voice and one for a fax. In my line of work ...
The question asked if you had a home phone, I think a home-office is a little different.
Also, I bet this would require AT&T's unlimited home phone calling plan. Even if you have a land line for personal use in combination with a cell phone plan, you probably don't need unlimited land line calling. Maybe that's just me.
Besides, the only value here is text messaging, which is over-priced for consumers since they don't cost the carriers very much at all. They're throwing you a bone for helping them to keep a dwindling service profitable.
For your information, most home alarm systems require a landline, as do fax machines. Also, during an extended blackout a landline is the only thing that will keep going, provided you have a basic handset. Most cell towers have battery backup which will run out in a few hours.
