Will the FCC remove all bandwidth restrictions?

The answer is no. Now some of you may be asking what this has to do with something? The reason carriers block certain internet applications is due to the amount of bandwidth they utilize. With the amount of bandwidth currently available on each block of spectrum it only allows for so much data to be transmitted. So if this goes through you could theatrically see 10% of the users using 90% of the bandwidth.

I have no sympathy for the cell phone companies and I work for them. They have been dragging their feet on rolling out new technology. Why? Because they make a ton of money off people going over their bandwidth caps. Same thing with the cable companies. They both were more worried able making tones of money than building out their infrastructure. Now everyone is paying the price.

Funny how european and japanese internet companies have no problems with caps and better speeds, as a previous poster said (well more for mobile, but still). The ISP's need to build out, then the problem would lessen. Blaming a minority of people who are data hogs is an easy out.

As I tell all the other political people when they like to compare the states to Europe .... we are NOT europe. We are not japan.

Go research the land mass and ratio of people and perhaps you will understand why Japan has higher internet speeds.

Wow do some research. In Europe and Japan most people only use there phone for text messaging because the voice and data plans are so expensive. In Europe and Japan a mobile plan is 2-3x more then the US. Your analogy only go to prove my point, an open internet is possible but will cost US mobile subscribers substantially more.

The US has by far the cheapest wireless in the WORLD.

I know for a fact that you are wrong. Japan only uses calling and text? 🤣 One of the most technologically advanced countries. Please you can use your cell phone like a credit card or you can watch TV or video conference on it.

Just as a example of cost a T-moble plan here in the US with 600 mins, u...

Just as a example of cost a T-moble plan here in the US with 600 mins, unl text and web is $75.00

A T-mobile plan in the UK with 700 mins, unl text and web is 30 pounds so about $50. Thats a huge difference in price.

Just because some CEO of a cell company says we have the best rates doesn't make it so. There have been a lot of talk recently, thanks to the Apple screw up, about cell phone providers ripping people off and having crappy service.

Europeon networks were government Mandated for their technology, and quite a bit of it was built using government money. also landmass wise, the US is larger.

They plans don't have as many "freebies" as plans in the US do. (unlimited mobile to mobile, nights and weekends, etc).

And Japan? Look at the number of residents they have, and the amount of landmass they have? It is MUCH easier to cover that area with cell cites to handle the bandwidth than it is to deploy it Nationwide stateside. You are talking about many times the cost for just the rollout, not to mention the maintenance costs.

When the plans first launched, they were "unlimited" but people got insane with it. Case and point, for the people who have grandfathered un...
