Here's an idea: Worry about 3G first

So instead of deploying a new technology for an area that already has 3G (area, lol), why don't they deploy their marvelous 3G for the LARGE part of the country that doesn't have it yet?!

T-Mobile's only about 4 years behind the ball on this anyway (And I work for the place 👀 0

You could say the same about ATT. They spend all this time developing/promoting a fast 3g service when a majority of the country doesn't even have the basic 3g.

If that's how you feel about it, then nobody covers the majority of the US with 3G.

For the most part AT&T does a good job in covering the major markets where a majority of their customer base is located.

Wrong. You need to check your facts. VZW EV-DO covers more than half of the contiguous US.

Does THAT much of the country really not have 3G from ATT?

actually yes. the only time my brother gets 3 g is when he is in a city, or on one of the major highways connecting them. You get up in northern/western pa and you're back to edge (if you have any signal)

There are maps out there comparing att's 3g coverage to that of Sprint and Verizon. They are quite entertaining. Most of the one's you find are from 2008:

I can't find the one that puts them side by side, but it's rather funny

I totally agree with dnbstyle29, they need to focus on expanding their 3g coverage first. T-mobile has the smallest footprint out of all major players. T-mobile decided it would expand its 3g first into the big metro cities, which is reasonable but ... its taking months and not all the big cities are covered. Now if you happen to live like 5 miles outside the city, forget about it , No soup for you.

They'll probably setup new 3G cities with HSPA+, once they get it working right.

Hmm I wonder when Tmo is actually going to come out with a USB modem that is HSPA+ capable. And what real-world/end-user speeds this HSPA+ will be capable of.
