Deutsche could not afford Sprint at this point and time, nor could they raise the capital in this global economy. Nor could they afford the merger of these two technologies.

All this is, is a rumor to drive down interest in Sprint and hurt their stock price at a time when T-Mobile USA is falling short on competitive offerings and is loosing ground with having competitive devices to offer.

A childish ploy by T-Mobile to reinvigorate interest in thier small company.

Very sad.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you are not a financial analyst. First of all Deutsche Telecom is worth over 60 Billion dollars and could easily get financial backing from a handfull of banks, they can easily afford to purchase Sprint at an estimated worth of around 11 Billion dollars.

Secondly, if you knew anything about the stock market, you wouldn't have said what you said. Let's examine what happened; a struggling U.S. wireless provider at the lowest stock price in their respected market continues to make big changes in the wireless industry gets targeted by one of the biggest telecom companies in the world, a company that is known for customer service in the U.S. (the biggest area Sprint struggles) and has internationa...

Because if you knew anything about what Wall Street values Sprint at and how much Spectrum they hold, the last time someone made a bid for Sprint they came back and said with their Spectrum and Fiber holdings that they valued themselves at $82.9 Billion.

I doubt since the launch of 4G and a 50% purchase of Clearwire, that they are going to lower that price down $72.9 Billion because some Deutsche loving douche on phonescoop and an outsider on Wall Street said so.

The reality is:

PRO MERGER POINTS
+ Sprint is the largest Spectrum Owner in the united states.
+ Sprint has the largest bank of fiber in the United states.
+ Sprint has the third largest customer base of all the providers, aggressive plan offerings, and forward looking...

Well unfortunately the REALITY is that Sprint stock sky rocketed after the rumor hit and Deutsche Telecom dropped which is the exact opposite of what you said. I could care less about DT, but my observation of the forecast turned out to be correct, but thanks for the breakdown of your "This is a load of *%#&", it really proved my purchase wrong, nice points! Looks like you were spot on!! Is there a way i can subscribe to all of your threads and base my stock purchases on your opinions, that would really help me out.

Just because you're too narrow minded and cant come up with anymore pros than the 3 you listed doesnt mean DT(or anyone else for that matter) can't. The reality that a merger will actually happen is slim for the simple fact that they have different network types, but realistically it would be excellent to have 3 top notch competitors, still gives a few options and would give the merging sprint&tmo a fighting chance with sprints size and TMos quality product.

re: "...and TMos quality product."

Let's be accurate and realistic here. T-Mo might have a reputation for excellent customer service and value-priced calling plans, which is to their credit. But their "product" (i.e. the performance of their network) basically sucks in the US. Their network is the smallest and simultaneously the worst performer in terms of poor audio quality, dropped calls and lack of coverage.

In my experience, T-Mo has what is called a "mixed bag product" - some good things about it and some bad things about it.

No comment on the alleged possible merger, just real-world facts about T-Mo's network performance in the US.

Your experience with Tmo Service must not be very extensive. Their network may be small to verizon by comparison in terms of subscribers but believe it or not they have more towers than any other provider. In the 3 years ive had Tmo I can count on one hand the number of dropped calls I've had vs the handful a day I experienced with verizon.

Nearly every place I live, work, or travel I have adequete coverage and a working phone which is more than I was getting from verizon on any given day. Not to mention Tmos 3g is the 2nd fastest nation wide.

People still have this stigma that tmobile is on the same playing field as virgin mobile and boost and the little no name guys, but realistically they have thrown tons of money and resources ov...

i think at the end of the day all carriers should take the time to fit the customer with the services that works best where they live and travel in their everyday life. one thing that T-mobile does do well is coverage checks. if you go into a T-mobile corporate store to activate a handset, the rep is required to check your home coverage area before they can activate a phone. i think the biggest problems people have with there cellular carriers is based on there geographical location. if third party retailers would care more about doing what's best for the customer then lining their pockets with commission most customer reception issues would be resolved. the majority of the cellular community do not do a lot of traveling outside of their hom...

Tell me, where did you see this being announced by T-Mobile? Also what makes you think that DT cant afford sprint? Are you a financial advisor for Sprint? I think someone is a little sour at the thought of their company being bough out by one that knows what its doing.
