With all of the minute crap? Are we not far enough along that we can just have a flat rate for voice? I know there are unlimited plans, but I am talking across the board everything has a flat rate. (data, voice, messaging) It would make life so much simpler for everyone involved. Billing issues should go to nearly zero, calls to call centers would drop. Just my two cents.

Well, if your willing to take the risk of your customer satisfaction, and go to Sprint, they have the "Simply Everything" plan.

I agree, they just need to do a low flat rate for voice and at least text (internet would be understandable to not be included), unfortunately the carriers have the power to strong arm people on cell phone/land line service while the FCC/FTC look the other way. Look, 15+ year old voice-mail and at&t still charges like $7 or more for it on a land-line. I don't foresee them quitting the games anytime soon. Greed knows no limit.

I am not even saying text has to be included, I am just saying instead of all the voice plans and gimmicks that go along with them, have it where voice is just one price, whatever that may be. Text is one price, data is one price, etc. Then have an everything plan at a discount.

Are you trying to put us phone sales people out of the job? I get paid more for the more minutes I can talk people into.

The issue is where do you set the price? I use very few voice minutes but a bunch if data. I don't want to pay 100 a month for voice service that I won't use. I'm happy to pay less than that for less minutes.

I know people think that unlimited voice plans for $40 or $50 should be available now, and that it's simply greed that prevents this from happening. From a structural standpoint though, if you open the floodgates for voice at such a low priced unlimited plan, you run the risk of the network not being able to sustain it.

Take for example the Iphone launch in many areas. AT&T and Apple come together and launch for all intent purposes a phenemonal product. Most complaints from the Iphone come from lack of network support. So now AT&T must play network catch up to support the services.

While profitabality is certainly a factor, I think what we're witnessing is the trial by carriers to offer voice services at lower and lower prices. Anyo...

The execution of the data is bothersome but this may be the way to go. So if a reseller can offer this plan on Verizon's network then why is the Select Unlimited $119.99 onVZW again?

Same reason you can get Unlimited Mins, Text and Data for only $50 from Boost but Sprint doesn't offer it. Money. A Reseller doesn't have the Verizon name, thus, Verizon banks on that. Boost is known as prepaid, so that plan is in a prepaid category. Sprint isn't prepaid and thus, if you want something "better" then prepaid you need to paymore.

Its a money thing. T-Mobile offers $1 a day for sidekick users. Unlimited Text and Unlimited Data. Yet that same "plan", "feature" is $35 on a monthly plan. Why is it $5 more? Money. You pay it, they accept it.

Why would Verizon offer that plan cheaper then $119.99 when people are accepting it at that price? If you keep accepting, they keep offering.
