I could only assume that, as the title says 'LTE MODEM for Phones'. 100Mbps would be good for tethering, but would need to be plugged into a power supply or die very quickly.

I can't imagine why anyone would need 100mbps on anything! Give me a consistant & reliable 10mbps and I'm happy.
And people need to stop differentiating between phones/smartphones and pc's, a file that someone is downloading is just that a file no matter what "device" it's being downloaded onto.
