Cellphones hsve become vastly mainstream and Smartphones increasingly as well. So as consumers become more intuitive with their devices as they have with PCs, more purchasing will be done at this level as opposed to corporate stores. Convenience and price will then come as a package deal.

I don't know. One thing I've observed working in the cellular industry on the retail side of it is that less people are inclined to going to 3rd party dealers. When I started in 2007, it happened left and right, because people wanted a deal. But as time went on, I got more people verifying that we are a corporate owned store (with both Sprint/Nextel and then AT&T). More than not, I hear these horror stories about their experiences in the store or after they left and their bill wasn't what they expected. By then, I couldn't help them because they were beyond their 30 days and of course the 3rd party couldn't help because they have no power. Folks can go through places like Wirefly or their local independent agent, but when worse comes to wors...

I think you are wrong! BEST Buy and walmart have sold the iphone ! I have heard nightmares about customers having problems on the corp level as well! i can only speak from experience with tmobile amd tms. and tms had no power what so ever. we always got their complaints and problems unfortunately. and that goes for all the other mom and pop 3rd party dealers. what company do you work for where you can work past the 30 days? to my understanding is that once you sign the contract and its PAST your 30 days your locked in.

Chill sir..chill.

Larger companies such as Best Buy and Walmart do indeed have sold iPhones. I am talking about more independent retailers who sell phones for the major carriers. And I don't know what power you have had, but from my experience, a lot of independent agents can't do things like bill pay or if they do, they charge. They cannot issue credits or correct mistakes made to bills. I'm not sure if you guys can do early upgrades either.

But hey, if you can, more power to you.
