Indeed, welcome to three or four years ago, T-Mobile, as that is how long Sprint & VZW have had 3G in said markets. For example, students at the University of Tennessee (in Knoxville for the geographically challenged) have gone fully from admission to graduation during that span. Well played, T-Mobile!

Your envy does not add to the discussion. So, bring something substantive to the table. Or, better yet, take your fingers off the keyboard and just read. The ignorance quotient on this board is already more than sufficient w/o your posts.

PS -- Do you work retail or customer service?

Customer service maybe, ๐Ÿคฃ but cell phone service are you kidding me, there is no comparison, only Verizon network is better, but sprints data is slightly faster and more stable (because of higher frequency), but back to the subject at hand.... come on are you serious. ๐Ÿคฃ

Not exactly sure Wiwavelength, but didn't some of the delay have something to do with the white spectrum in conjunction to Tmo's network? I heard they couldn't move forward until the white spectrum was freed up from auction.

Yes in part in did, but this is also Tmo's fault. They knew when they bought this spectrum that there was no date for it to be open. Just about the dumbest thing that you can do. Its like buying a house, and teling the buyers after they have paid for it that we will call you sometime down the road and let you know when we are moving out, and you can move in. Dumb.

I like T-Mobile. I had them for years and never had a problem with them. That being said, it would be nice if they kept up with the rest of the country in wireless tech. They're like a bigger version of a local wireless company.

Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes...

Sprint does suck. That's another truth.

I'm sure as they continue to expand they're 3G footprint they'll have better handsets. The Samsung Behold, HTC TP2, and Samsung Memoir are fine handsets. I'm sure 2010 will be a fine year for Tmo. I just wonder what they're future plans are with reguards to HSPA+/LTE. Cause I'm sure by the 2nd half of 2011 ATT will either be deploying HSPA+ or LTE.

If Sprint sucks t-mobile must be garbage! Sprint has way more 3g coverage then t-mobile and they are just now adding more coverage. T-mobile is weak! Only one good phone cell phone till they get the touch pro 2 and even then they will still suck. Sprint is work on the first 4g network while t-mobile is barely releasing 3g are u kidding me. ๐Ÿ™„

You seriously need to take size into consideration. Despite the bleeding of customers, Sprint has Virgin Mobile, Nextel, and other subsidiaries under their belt. T-Mobile simply has T-Mobile.

If you couldn't surmise anything from what that means, that means more spending money. The average customer spends $75-100 on their monthly phone bill. Even 1 million more customers would literally mean millions more dollars for Sprint to spend than T-Mobile.

For their size, which is increasing rapidly despite the economic slowdown, T-Mobile is doing very well.

And have you SEEN Sprint's coverage map lately? Try http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?languag e=EN and look. Surprisingly similar to that of T-Mobile's. Notice all that Verizon ...

What do you suggest T-Mobile could have done? Wait til the 700MHz spectrum, and wait til the govt drops the analog? T-Mobile needed spectrum badly, something the other carriers didn't need at the time that much. If they would have launched 3G on their current 1900 network, things would be falling fast.

Who cares who's fault it is, the issue is they are rapidly deploying. I don't use TMO but the more good competition the better.

Correct on both counts.

T-Mobile has had to wait for government use to vacate some of the AWS 2100+1700 MHz spectrum that T-Mobile won at FCC auction almost exactly three years ago. But such was an accepted condition of that auctioned spectrum. So, yes, T-Mobile is still responsible for its very late 3G deployment.

T-Mobile is also at fault for staying the course w/ an emerging airlink technology that is quite a bandwidth hog (W-CDMA) when T-Mobile knew that it did not have sufficient existing spectrum to deploy that airlink and could not obtain ...

Actually multiple networks with two imcompatible technologies would be a complete nightmare for any company. Not doing something like that is actually a testament to their decision makers. They have always had a small network compared to the Big 2 so I think they are moving along quite well. They are moving to 3G just as very data centric uses are becoming mainstream. They might were not the first out of the gate but they arrived at a very good time.
