Can't be denied. I think they really know what they're doing and really am gaining confidence. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Maybe I should start buying stock. ๐Ÿคจ

There was a time right after Christmas where it was $1.90.

Sprint is doing awesome things, but they need to really get customers to believe that. Otherwise, it doesn't matter how awesome Sprint is because their customer base will continue to bleed. Someone stop the bleeding.

it's true. sprint is really doing a lot, and in my opinion is ahead of the pack by a long shot. sure, they made a huge mistake with nextel, and that's still biting them in the you know what. but with the first 4G network, really expanding that network, putting in over 300 towers in the 2009 year, and recently acquiring virgin mobile, not to mention the cheapest post paid prices, they're really taking leaps and bounds. They just have to convince their customers that they're improving, cuz apparently, they don't think so.

Agreed. I offer three major carriers where I work, one being Sprint. When I started a year and a half ago, I hated Sprint. And I mean that. However, Sprint has done sooo much in just the last 12 months to boost not just my confidence, but hopefully the entire industry's as well. Just the simple fact that their insane billing issues are coming to a rest, as well as their huge improvement upon customer service. I now use Sprint exclusively, and if somebody told me a year ago that I would use a Sprint device, I would have thought they were crazy.
In fact, as a manager of my kiosk, we sold more Sprint new acts last month than any other carrier, which is hard to believe, considering that we offer T-Mobile (and where I work, T-Mobile meshes well...

Not for nothing... I too believe that sprint is doing a lot in the tech arena to boost the customer experience overall, but watching these changes implemented since Mr. Forsee got the boot, it hasnt been all good.
There was a 3 month period when customer service actually did get somewhat better, and now theyre comfortable again, I dont work over the phone so i cant tell you what changed to make that happen. Buying the Pre just destroyed any faith I had in Sprint.. the helpful customer service that knows NOTHING about the phone ( exactly the same as every big launch they do.. so busy denying the employees more than a glimpse of the new phones they never stop to think of how theyre gonna help customers buying these devices) They just destr...

The Pre is for gadgeteers who want a kewl phone rather than one that actually works and is productive.

That's why when it comes to the wireless industy, one should never jump on the newest products.

I would think that you more than most in this forum, would know that this industry has the lowest amount of trained personnel in new devices and products. Iphone, G1, BB Storm, Pre. All were met with initial knowledge deficiency. Many CS reps in the industry; no matter what carrier, still don't know how to use a windows device to full potential. This would anger me more than a brand new device out of the gate.

Very true, and for this reason from day 1 I NEVER called in for tech support on the Pre. Im talking about basic requirements, and plan changes, what codes you need on your account to add the phone... NOBODY knew any way to keep my plan the same and go with the Pre. I have an employee account that allows me to use this phone without the $70-$100 plans, and because theyre pushing so hard to get everyone on Talk and Everything plans right now, I meet with a wall whenever I have to call in about anything (I had to call in to activate because I was out of my market at the time) the only solution they all offer is to switch to a new plan. Then you start talking in system codes and most of them admit they really havent had any experience with ...

There is definite flaw in wanting a device that requires an everything plan when attached to a family plan. Why should my Nephew have an everything plan on his M200 and everyone else under my plan just because my Wife wants the Tour? I have called inside sources and they agree that this is a definite issue. But in all honesty, I am not willing to sacrifice our financial comfortablity through Sprint just for a phone. Changes will eventually be made and we can wait.

you don't have to change your plan for a bb tour, you just need the bb pack so you can get your mail in rebate and sprint kinda requires you to add it on, only stipulation plan wise is your just not allowed to have it on a everything messaging plan.

You guys are embarrasing...its like you understand how to tell customers they are out of line but when your own demands are out...suddenly it's greener on the other side of the pasture.

I don't understand how one would be more comfortable paying $80 a month to not have hassles over plans/phones and pretend that he is treated differently then simply just paying that same $80 to sprint in the first place and stop asking for unreasonable s*it. I mean seriously, you don't ask T-Mobile for a cheap plan and surprise surprise, you didn't run into any walls....

I mean seriously, people rag on Sprint CSR's for being hard to deal with, but when your asking for **** out of policy, and you knew it was out of policy before you even started, what ...

First of all Brandtz, I am probably the biggest advocate Sprint has on this forum, I have never been treated better by any carrier and the price plans are the most competitive in the industry. Their CS has come full circle but the problem is, that you are locked into defending a policy that needs to be changed.

Example: A family of 5 are all under one "Everything Messaging" plan. This does not cover data. So for myself, as it stands I add the data plan for 20 dollars extra. This allows me to have what I need while keeping everyone else consistant with only messaging. Now if I want to upgrade to say the Pre, under the current policy; I am either forced to seperate myself from the family plan which will end up costing me 55 dollars extra a...

Oh and BTW, I do not work for any carrier. I am a Sprint customer that just happens to notice a flaw.

Heres my beef in short: My niece and nephew are under my plan but are responsible for their own phone and payment. To get what I want under my plan, will force them to pay more which they are not willing to do.

Get it?

I can take it even further, a family of 5 with only 2 Everything users that barely use 1000 minutes. I've long been a proponent of forcing the Pro pack for those w/o messaging bundled and Data Premier if you do and allow the Everything Data Share plans to add talk/messaging lines for $10 instead of forcing all to have/pay for data

For one your data pack wont include gps, radio, and TV (i know some people have special packs from retention that include some of these features). Now i know you may be one of the few people who can have features on there phone and not want to use them and never access them by accident, but in reality 95% of people are not like you. Can you not envision the amount of calls and complaints and even more canceling for customers using the gps on their phone or watching TV and racking up up a 7 dollar charge per channel they watch. And guess what, they will all say its on the phone.... i thought i could use it, the store never told me not to use the features already installed on here, its not in my contract, i want to cancel.

OH, and BTW, Sprint always owned a percentage of Virgin Mobile, and thats why Virgin Mobile's 5 million customers didnt raise Sprints customer counts at all... they were already counting them, lol. So if someone else had bought VM this year Sprint would be down to 43 million from the 48+ they claim now, same with boost and every other mvno they offer service to, including amazon kindle subscribers

Wrong about what?? Prior to the purchase, they have since conception had 14% of Virgin, and even today count their subscriber numbers to make up the 47mil plus [Fierce Wireless/Sprint Connection]they have left (yes, I know I said 48 yesterday, maybe thats what I was wrong about, lol)so im not entirely sure what you mean. And do me a favor by linking to the information that proves me wrong, I do like to be factual when I quote information so I would appreciate it!

Well here you go Mr.Factual, so please learn to read, they have not counted the customers yet because sprint has not bought the company yet, its not supposed to happen until the end of 2009 or beginning of 2010 and at that point sprint will add 5.2 million customers.

Updated: added details once the press release became available.

Today Sprint Nextel announced that it has agreed to acquire Virgin Mobile USA. Virgin Mobile is an MVNO that uses Sprint's network to provide cellular services. Virgin acquired Helio, another MVNO that used Sprint's network, in 2008. Sprint will pay about $483 million to assume c...
