You can text 911 and let them know ahead of time that you are about to get into an accident because you're busy texting. This way they can be there before it happens. It is all about saving minutes off from the time of the accident to the travel to the hospital. If they are already there, this saves considerable time. You can obviously see the advantages in this. 😁

Maybe? Deaf people can utilize a TTY operator, and in most cases, I cannot see how waiting for an operator in a 911 center to respond to a text is faster or certainly more secure. What if there is an issue where text has been unprovisioned on your account, and you have no idea? There are certainly flaws to this system.
