But what if you live NEAR the prison, or if you break down on the road in front of it, your cell will be blocked ๐Ÿคจ

This is similar to running WiFi 2.4GHz and a Bluetooth side by side. It is localized. I'd actually expect it to be limited to 'indoors'.

There is a Federal Penitentary (sp?) near here, and there are homes within 100 yards of it. This plan is very flawed.

Believe it or not, there was a time when not everbody had a cell phone and not every cell phone worked everywhere, so all you have to do is think back to that time. What did you do then? You would have walked to the prison gate and asked for help, the guards are there 24/7. Or you walk a block or two away from the prison and get service. Just because your phone stops working doesn't mean your brain has to.

He shouldn't have to go back in time and loose his cellular service because he lives near a prison.

You're right he should be allowed to be an idiot and be glued to his cellphone. Why put airbags in a car a parent might put their 2 yr old in the passenger seat and the airbag could kill them. Think straight, by blocking the signal prisoners can't conduct business outside of the prison which is a good thing

I can tell you can't see past your nose.

Open your eyes. Jamming the signals is not going to keep prisoners from conducting outside affairs. Prisoners have been conducting business since Gotti's days long before cell phones. Mail, word of mouth, released immates will pass messages, hell even guards, etc.

And prisioners have escaped prisons so why keep most of them behind bars. Some prisoners have been able to conduct business without cellphones but I can tell you it doesn't help to keep them operational within prision walls.

Next time think before you type.

Inmates are allowed to use a land line. so all they need to due is pick up a phone and talk. So none of this will stop them communicating...

And, by all means...lets continue to make it even easier and easier for them...why the heck not?! Life should be cozy for them...lets start a fund to provide ALL inmates with a free cell phone....and we can program YOUR number in to speed dial!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they zone the area around a prison for a certain number of feet or miles. If that's case how would anybody's home be affected anyway. Seems like a non-issue to me. I'd rather have Joe Gang Leader in jail not be able to order hits whenever he wanted.

YEAH THE ONLY WAY I WOULD APPROVE THIS OR SEE THIS GETTING APPROVED IS THAT THE BLOCKING IS ON A LOW FREQUENCY OR SOMETHING THAT DOESNT EFFECT THE AREA AROUND IT, AND EVEN THEN IT STILL SOUNDS CRAZY FOR PEOPLE DRIVING UP TO THE PRISONS AND HAVE TO STAY IN THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE THEY BROUGHT TOO MANY VISITORS OR DIDN'T WEAR THE CORRECT CLOTHING SO WERE FORCED TO STAY IN THE PARKING LOT. THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE THEIR PHONES AND IF A EMERGENCY WERE TO HAPPEN THEN THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CALL FOR HELP FROM THE PARKING LOT TO REPORT ESCAPEE'S OR WHATNOT.

And you just won the world's dumbest poster of the year award. Please drive to "Off a Cliff" to accept your prize.

You act as though people escape from jail everyday, and run through the parking lot to do so. This is only going to affect a select few who are dumb enough to stay supportive of someone who landed themselves in Prision to begin with. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

You dumb sh!t.

It doesnt matter. If one person can loose their life behind a decision, then why make that decision?

All you have to do is tighten up security. How many lives is that going to jeperdize?

My point exactly you nut for brains. think before you type.

You seem to always find a way yo dump on the prison security. Its not an easy job. I don't think you would make it an hour in prison,as an officer or inmate...
