Just wait and watch. In about 2 years they will be merged with Metro PCS and create a large footprint of unlimited calling.

It pretty much only makes sense. Most of their territory doesn't overlap so they would merge quite nicely. When you look at either one of their coverage viewers online, you can see that if they were to just fit together, they would be a pretty descent carrier that would probably rival the T-Mobile network. For instance, here in Michigan, metroPCS is the sole unlimited carrier, but just to our south, in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, Cricket runs right along the highways and into their major cities. If they would just fit together....

Yeah the damn BIG 2 national carriers really, really need more competition. And with the economy the way it is more and more ppl are going tn go for these cheap rate plans that Cricket & MetroPCS offer.

Well, I would agree but if the two merged, they should really think about expanding the coverage areas beyond the big and medium sized cities that they currently cater to. Otherwise, it's going to be hard to go head to head with Verizon and AT&T when they serve the rural areas where residents aren't currently able to sign up with an unlimited service provider. T-Mobile has the same problem. They've built out their coverage areas in the big cities, but they've left out a large part of the population in the process.
