Some of you keep saying how at&t would lose millions but if you think about it, the app is available for all blackberry's to download. There are more blackberrys then there are iphones out there so how would allowing one app for one phone going to hurt them when its already available for other phones on their network?

I think you might be a little of on your assertion: By the 2nd quarter Apple has sold a total of 37 million units of both the iPod touch and iPhone's combined.

Blackberry cant even get out numbers for the storm because of the problems its been having. You can not compare all BB's to the iPhone or iPod touch since BB only made one phone to go up against the iPhone and even than Apple still rules the market. with phones and on line app store with over 50,000 apps. if they say they dont want google on there phone than t...

And the fact that Blackberry Curve outsold the iPhone the previous quarter ago has absolutely no relevance?

or the fact that you can get tested software on your BB that fixes all known issues that happen to be 3rd party? i have 9.xxxx on my storm i really wonder why its not officially released....stupid, also ive played with both iphone and mqany other touchscreens, and can not forsee a world in which the iphone would ever be better than the storm, unless your a kid who wants to act cool... sad but true

You know what you make a good point about the blackberrys alowing this app. So why is AT&T taking heat over this?

At&T wants to offer its customers their own apps.. They dont want open source. Thats why they locked the iphone up so tight and tried everything they could to keep others from being able to us it. If they allow Google to get in.. it could mean the end of their app store (or a potential loss).

I know this app wont do this but if the FCC forces them to use this app whats to stop the FCC from forcing them to allow Googles Open Source App store from being used on the iphone also?

At&T is taking heat because of the iphone and the whole "Fair Business" thing the FCC is trying to attack them for.

To be honest...I havent said this in a long time but ill say it again now... The fools here are APPLE. They SHOULD have released the iphone for ...

Personally I think there is way, way too much control involved with the Iphone. I don't like AT&T or Apple telling me what I can/can't do.

that is why I refuse to get an iPhone. It just feels like your hands are tied down when it comes to what you want to do with the phone. I will pick any windows or blackberry device over an iPhone for the simple fact I can do almost anything I want with them.
