Stay out of it...

It's called business. Stay out of it FCC. Just like everything else.

So if enough people on spring complain, then apple has to let them use the iphone? Which means apple now then has to design and build a phone that will work on their network?

I don't give a rats ass about any of these carriers. I don't even own a computer! I'm not even typing this right now.

Feh !

OH FFS....So because verizon worked to increase coverage rather than prompt manufactuarers for flashy fad phones theres an inquiry on whether thats fair?....I cant believe what is happening to this country, and doubt we can survive four years like this, never mind 8...or longer with how much everyones laying down and changing things for the worse on a whim....no resistance at all, its so heartbreaking

You are right, this countries falling apart into shambles (or something like that). The American people have been so oblivious to the situation that they have become ignorant. Until people realize they can't go down to Walmart and buy whatever they wanted; they will remain in their sleeper state. I just hope WW3 isn't fought on our soil fighting to keep China away from the land Obama sold them.

I think the FCC is trying to see how far they can push the carriers around before they stop offering service in general.

That is what the FCC is for, not to stay out of it but to listen to consumer complaints and act if corporations are treating us unfairly. Staying out of it (deregulation) and letting businesses do as they will is what caused the problems we are in now.
BTW, WWIII will probably be fought on our soil but it will be about water, we have it, China and India are running out fast..

Now if the FCC would get rid of Rush Limbaugh..

I guess you are right, that is the job of the FCC, but they were doing nothing for so long (8years) and now it seems it is back with a vengeance. I just hope it ends MORE affordable for everyone

Rush is a tool, I'm more of a Glen Beck kind of guy.

You....sound...like your blaming the president? 4yrs? 8yrs? Whats the difference? You think this is happening cause of Obama?

I would rather the FCC screw with cellphone companies because of Obama then my brothers and sisters die in the desert because of Bush.

You do that. You go die for Bushes Oil. Please for the love of god....dont take my friends with you. You and Bush can take all your supporters and go fight together. Give Bush a gun and ask him to raise arms with you over his Oil.

Meanwhile, I will sit here and talk about what the FCC is doing during Obamas presidency.

A Tyrant you call him? You sure? I would call Obama a Demagogue and Bush the Tyrant...

You think you can do something about it? What good did your voice do for the recount?

Well actually I do have mixed feeling about this FCC action. Sure, more gov't intervention is never good. But Apple+AT&T *is* exhibiting behaviors that are triggering antitrust concerns.

Why should Apple have the right to prohibit a customer from running a particular program on his iPhone?

If Microsoft prohibited Windows users from running Firefox or Opera, would that be okay? (obviously not, the courts and DOJ have already said so). So then why is it okay for Apple to prohibit the running of GoogleVoice on the iPhone?

I can argue both sides here. Although I agree with you, I also have to ask...Who will be responsible for errors?

If Opera screws up a gatewat computer, does opera use its warrenty to take care of you? No, Microsoft Warrenty does.

If Googles GoogleVoice creates a error in a iphone who will be the one fixing/trouble shooting and/or replacing the handset? Google?

Along with allow this app they must also be ready to answer those call center calls about "Hey, my phone locked up on me and wont start back up, what do I do?" - "Well sir, did you download any new apps recently?" - "Yeah, that new GoogleVoice" -

If a app makes your phone crash and non-functional who assumes responsibility? The app Creator or the phone service provider?

i don't think its antitrust to reject putting a app on the iphone, apple and att choose who to allow.

antitrust is the inability to find a way to get it to work. If its not supported by the manufacturer, they are just saying if you find a way to do it then your on your own. Like putting a supercharger on a v6 mustang. Void manufacturer warranty. Thats fair.
