AT&T is in for a rude awaking. Verizon is going to lite a fire under there @$$ for this.

AT&T is afriad that Verizon is going to hurt them when we get the iPhone.

AT&T is mad that our 3G network is 5 times the size of theres.

AT&T is mad that our 4G network will be out at the end of 09.

AT&T is mad that we always get praised for our network, and well, they get preached at.

This is taking place in NEW YORK! HELLO AT&T! This is your WORSE area in the US!

WHY the HECK would you file a law suite in a city that your network is not usable in?

I will laugh when the judge rules in favor of Verizon. I bet the judge has or had an iPhone on AT&T and knows how horrible the service is.

AT&T really screwed up this time.

LG enV3. Keyboard for texting, dual flip design is sturdy, and LGs get slightly better signal strength. Battery is decent as well, not as power hungry as the Touch Screen LGs.

LG's are never sturdy. Don't be a verizon tool.

Well then what do you suggest, a Motorola RAZR? Unless it's a MIL-SPEC ruggged phone, it's not going to fit your definition of Sturdy.

Something not LG, and preferably not Motorola.

There is always the UTStarcom C711 Boulder. That is Mil-Spec. 🙂

The Boulder is made by Casio, not UTStarcom (thank goodness!).

You are thinking about the Verizon Wireless CDM8975.

The Bolder is made by Casio. Verizon Wireless Casio G'zOne Boulder.

Check page 231 of the Boulders user manual.
It is UTStarcom.

That device is sold as part of the Casio G'zone line, but yes UTStarcom had a part in the manufacturing of it. You can find it on both the Casio site and the UTStarcom site.

In My (and others) Experience:

LG = Signal Strength. I can't stress this enough. This is not just my opinion, I have many people tell me the difference between an LG and a not LG when it comes to signal strength. Also, LG phones have good performance in general. Fast and responsive.

Samsung = Longevity. For some reason these gazillion year old Samsungs keep working. Despite all the wear and tear they have. They vary a lot in performance, though.

Motorola = LOUD! Moto has some powerful speakers on their phones. They also draw less power, but at the expense that most of their phones are SLOW or have not enough battery life. Their signal strength is hit or miss depending on the phone.

PCD = A name to run away from really fast!

LG's for verizon are very different than LG's from ATT from everything I've seen.

For Verizon, the LG phones (with a few exceptions like the chocolate) are some of the best non-smartphones released when it comes to signal strength and build quality. Motorola's and Samsungs don't even come close.

If you like Nokia, try the Nokia 7205.
If you want something els, the enV3 is really good.

(NO SAMSUNG) 😁

The Env3 has a full keyboard, decent battery life, and the design makes it pretty resistant to breaks (unlike say a slider QWERTY phone). Signal Strength is also great. Unless my phone literally says "no service" (only happens in one town around here) I can always make and receive calls.

VZW611LA: So you actually believe VZWs network is a 3G network???

I'm not gonna knock your service... AT&T and VZW are the worlds largest for a reason... but with regards to your comments above...

AT&T afraid of VZW getting the iPhone? Didn't you get the memo? You won't be getting that Apple device until your 4G network rolls out and is sufficient enough for Apple to agree to distribution.

VZWs 3G Network? Can VZW 3G devices simultaneously use voice and data? Say I'm on a call and wanna use the mobile web... How about a one-way Video Stream Call? Hmmm... Don't you know that those are "TRUE" 3G services??? Face it! VZWs network is 2.5G and at the very least is comparable to 3G data speeds. BUT IT IS NOT A 3G NETWORK!

Since you spew your misinformation across multiple posts, I will correct you across multiple posts...

Yeah, VZW611LA has good reason to believe that VZW's network is actually 3G. VZW's network has EV-DO overlay, and EV-DO is 3G. The ITU set the IMT-2000 standard, which defines 3G. IMT-2000 certifies both W-CDMA & EV-DO, among other airlinks, as 3G.

So, please sit down & shut up until you are more knowledgeable. Of course, if sales reps truly understood the technology they sell, then they would not be stuck as sales reps. They would be engineers.
