You know there are ways around this... tin foil. Let's just microwave everything that comes in or out of the prison. That way it will fry any electronic that comes in, like lanudry and stuff... but you can't microwave the human's..... yet ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

That is easy to fix, let the public know around the prisons that they will not be able to send or receive signals. The prisoners don't deserve to get cell phone signal for any reason and that just means that the taxpayer and the company that owns the signal in the first place are paying for them to have the signal and ultimately the contraband.

I say drop the signals and if the people who drive thru that area can't just not receive a call or make a call during that dead space area then maybe they need counceling for addiction to their phone

You say go ahead and drop signal there, but if was your neighborhood, would you be one of the thousands calling in and complaining that you don't get signal or live in a dead zone and then blame the carrier?? I don't think prisoners should have cell signal, but I don't think its fair to residents in the same area to lose signal, just to keep prisoners from texting.

Such arrogance. Someone driving by the prison has a breakdown and needs to call 911 and they are just SOL, huh? How about the prisons put up metal shielding throughout and around their walls and windows to block the radio waves? These nazis just want in on the control. They are full of it.

You know there is a easy, but perhaps more expensive way around this. I remember first seeing this on Mr. Wizard (in the 80's) on TV and later learned about it in college physics class. Build a Large Fariday box** around the prison (** a copper mesh box will block 95% RF coming in and out of the box. Mr. Wizard would show a handheld AM/FM radio tuned to a strong station outside of the Fariday box, would put it into the box, and all of a sudden there would only be static. Take it out of the copper mesh box and great reception would return immediately).

As I see it we could retrofit the cell space area walls with a mesh of copper wire and block the cell phone signal without interferring with the cellular service outside of the copper me...

All of this is stupid. Maybe they should just tighten up their guard hiring process and training and enforce more stronger penalties to guards or who ever helping them with the cell phone issues to control and regulate the usage.
