But anyone that believes management's nonsense that Sprint-Nextel will save a ton of money while getting a better network in the bargain has no real-world experience with the outsourcing of core operations and/or no concept of basic economics. Ever heard of the mythical free lunch?
The only truthful and accurate thing you can say about the outsourcing of core operations is that it is DIFFERENT. Outsourcing core ops is very rarely better, usually results in noticeably degraded performance, and in the final analysis turns out to be cost-neutral at best. Different? Yes. Better? Rarely.

Did you know that Verizon is comparatively more successful than its parent company Vodafone? Did you know that's why Verizon in the US has been trying for years to buy themselves out from under Vodafone's oversight. Did you know that is precisely why Vodafone won't let Verizon go, because Vodafone needs Verizon to keep the parent company successful?

Hmmm...you're right, I guess that's why Vodafone outsources their network just like Sprint is now doing. You know Vodafone right? Also known as Verizon's parent company...
I don't think you can easily compare the two situations. Sprint is outsourcing their network ops to save money. They say they want to keep offering unique things like a quality customer experience, good values, etc., but it is likely they will keep branding themselves as Sprint, not erricson. Verizon, on the other hand is not known as Vodafone outside of forums like these.

I don't believe Vodafone is Verizon wireless parent co. Verizon communications is their parent co. NOT Voda. Voda owns 45% of Verizon wireless.
Wow. So, is Vodafone just a mere shareholder, considering they own a major controlling interest in the company? You don't have to believe that Vodafone is a "parent". I could equally tell you that the sky is blue the majority of the time, and you wouldn't have to believe that either. 🙄
First 4g network?? Well everyone knows you always had firsts and have been innovative but guess what? It never really mattered. You wanna know why? Cause your service and company sucks. The only thing keeping you guys afloat are the hoodrats on Boost and those on SERO plans. No wonder your company isn't making any money.
You think WiMax will save you??? LMAO. Please. LTE will eventually dominate and when your CDMA competitor called Verizon gets a 4g iPhone, it'll be time to a fork in Sprint cause it will be done. Why do you keep doing thi...
