TracFone is the longest-running MVNO, and their normal strategy is not cheap unlimited service, it is slightly expensive service for the benefit of a prepaid payment system. You might want to wait a little while to see if this born-yesterday venture of theirs doesn't crash, or have other strings attached to its undercarriage.
It's actually a cheaper system for those who rarely use a cellphone. For less than ten bucks per month, Tracfone has offered service to those who only occasionally use a phone when out somewhere.
