Femtocells?

So this is like a wireless signal booster? Anyone have any idea how much these things will cost?

Not quite the same as a signal booster. A femtocell is like a tiny cell tower, that uses the house Internet connection to relay the calls to the service provider:

Phone -(cell radio)- Femtocell -(VOIP over broadband)- Provider.

Femtocells typically cost around $200.

Customers who have stucco and other homes constructed with high metal content in the walls that block signals will benefit from these devices or people that have lake or mountain cabins who might have broadband service but no cell service. An area near Austin, Georgetown, Tx has a subdivision called Sun City where all homes are built with stucco which have chicken wire like wires in the walls. These people have little or no cell phone signal unless they stand by the window.Same for the customers that work in Austin's skyscrapers and might have an office below ground. Sprint has their devise called the airave and T-Mobile has their at home service for these kind of customers. It will be nice to also bring at&t on board so customers can have s...
