Best Buy and T-Mobile

As it was explained to me, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon handcuffed Best Buy into only offering their services. This leaves T-Mobile only to have Best Buy offer non-contract phones. Most important of all, it leaves the best customer service provider and best value in the industry as the odd man out.

As Congress looks into wireless providers exclusive agreements with phone manufactures, why not look into the arrangements of Best Buy only being able to offer AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint?

Thinking of myself as a well-informed shopper in anything I buy, I cannot be lured into switching providers based on free Blackberry Storms or with an ADV priced iPhone. I have been with T-Mobile since 2004 and will continue to be a customer for years to come. ...

Actually, Best Buy DOES sell T-Mobile post paid phones. It is not available in all areas, however.

However does not sell phones. I would buy T-Mobile over Sprint in a heartbeat. Just call Sprints customer service and you will know why.. 🙄

This is totally false. If a Best Buy wants to sell T-Mobile which some do, they have to drop one of the other 3 major carriers which most drop Sprint. Its really depends on where you live and who are the top three in that area. Over here the stand alone Best Buys sell T-Mobile and not Sprint.

I think this is either a T-mobile thing or a Verizon thing. Cause back in 2003 the wireless company I worked for wanted to sell Verizon but they said since we sold 4 national carriers that we had to get rid of two in order to sell them.

False??

What did I say that was false? Obviously I pointed out that there is some form of Group Boycott that is taking place.

In competition law, shuting out a competitor based on what ccanady just said about Verizon is a violation of the Shermanx Anti-Trust Act.

I understand that you work at Best Buy.

Without saying sources, it was not Best Buy who said T-Mobile couldn't join the party there in the store. Obviously, they are in the store as PAYG.

Not sure what part of the country you're in, but in the Southeast and Northwest, T-Mobile was not in the stores that I visited, other than PAYG.

Why not become a one stop shop location for all companies? Just means that you might bring in more customers who had bad service else where. Most important of all, if a customer is shopping for a phone, regardless of carrier, they will be walking out with a phone since everyone is at the same party.
