Verizon Goes On the Offensive Against Telemarketers

Personally I wish there would be criminal as well as civil penalties. A few months or a year in some prison would slow this nonsense down. And please, I don't want to hear, well I didn't know? Its your business and job to know!
While I don't use VZW, I have to say loud and clear! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!
One day I decided to pick up the call and let then go thru the sales punch.... of course when they heard the year of my vehicle, the sales person was quite upset about loosing their time, and when I asked to be taken of the list they hang up.
I had one call my Nextel, then Sprint then AT&T lines from different numbers (all fake). I asked the last one for a call back number in case I got dropped 😉 and they hung up on me.
I reported it to the donotcall.gov site.
It's too bad their isn't a shred of truth to that or maybe, and I mean just maybe, your post wouldn't be pointless.
These "robo-dialers" don't use and don't need customer info, they auto dial numbers.

There is a small shred of truth to that post. Unfortunately it's so miniscule it hardly matters. Verizon does sell customer information, but they sell it in the form of trend reports: customers with LG phones or who live in a certain area or have a certain voice or data plan or calling habits tend to do behavior X. Company Y who sells a product that can help with behavior X buys that information and tries to use it to increase their sales. But by the time those reports reach the buyers, they've been scrubbed clean of any customer identifying info.
