Tell you what, you find me a good working Motorola phone and in about five days I'll show you the same Motorola phone that sucks and will not work.
That's how Motorola works, I hate them, I wish they would focus on making a phone that works and not making large amounts of crappy phones.
Crapperola phones are the worst.

Is it the world or is it just Motorola that's behind?

It's not just Motorola.

Nokia once made really durable low-end phones. But in the last couple of years, they really turned to garbage. Their middle- and upper-end stuff is still OK.

SonyEricsson is my favorite for a variety of features, but they can't make housing parts that fit together. Creak! But they do seem to continue working.

The closest thing to a good Motorola I have used are the SLVR and c261, though they both had some flaws.
