AT&T Mulling Changes to iPhone Plan

Why not just sell the data part seperate?

Instead of trying to lock down people to an iPhone... why don't they try to expand their business to the iPod's/Zune's/etc... with WiFi support? Allow people to use all their WiFi devices at hot spots thru one user account that has a data plan. You get a bucket of data transfer that you can use as you like across any device you have?

If i had the option to share a fixed amount of data traffic across various device's... i would hop on that bandwagon. Screw this B.S. fake unlimited data plan with overages, If i can setup a pre-paid plan which can track how much i use to the instant i use it... you bet that AT&T plans can do the same in their billing on my normal account. So that i should never have an overage or crazy $25,000 cell phone bil...

That's why you could never work for AT&T.
