if i were you i would go ahead and get it..who needs phone as modem when you have the internet in the palm of your hand. Pretty soon there will be no need for laptops.

There will always be a need for laptops. Not everyone wants to browse the web on a miniscule window that you have to scroll a lot and zoom in to read anything.

Just use the bluetooth on your laptop to connect to the web from the phone they dont know and cant charge you. i use that all the time with my black berry.

How does that work. I tried that and my laptop or phone is having issues pairing with eachother. I currently have the Palm Centro.

PAM is an optional buy up on all plans. It's just an extra feature on top of the phone's data.
