The grounds are, it's a ridiculous one-sided scam. True, they agreed to it.
But if you %$&# people over bad enough, you can end up losing.
Especially when a reason is claimed for why a fee is necessary, and further investigation reveals that the claimed necessity for a fee was inflated.

Do you think this will carry over to the other carriers? Prorated ETFs are still very recent, all the other carriers have had thier fair share of ETF money.

GTE had a prorated ETF 10 years ago, before Verizon bought them and turned a good carrier into another mindless scam machine.
I remember the contracts, which I actually read to people each time I sold a phone (shocking, isn't it?). The cancellation fee is not to exceed $25 for each month remaining on the contract.

No they are not !! If owned a billion dollar company u surely didn't get there letting people do what they want a cell phone is a want not a requirement!! If you don't want a contract don't sign up!! Simple as that
