Hmm I wonder if they took the complaints of the z500 into consideration because it seems like they did. Bigger screen larger keypad and bluetooth. I hated my z500 and sold it. maybe they recoognized the problem and fixed it. But sony ericsson has lost my buisness. time to go on to bigger and better things like the razr

I don't know if you were referring to the internal or external screen but if you were referring to the internal screen (which is the one people have complained about) it is not any larger than on the z500. It is the same exact size, but it has been upgraded to a better quality screen, TFT instead of STN.

On the other hand, if you are considering the RAZR I might re-consider if I were you. Unlike the z500, the RAZR is a delicate phone. I've heard people say that any time they have the phone with them, they have to constantly remember that they're carring around $300 in their pocket. If you do so much as drop it once or even "hit" it wrong when it is in your pocket you might end up buying another phone sooner than you'd like. I have he...

The RAZR is pure garbage, as are all Motorolas (with the exception of the V551). Having worked for Cingular Wireless for the last 6 months in Tech Support, I've seen this phone returned more times than any other.

i thought about that. Read it in the reviews. Fortunately for me I have a friend who is a phone dristributer so i get most of my phones for free including the razr and if i have a problem hell replace it for me. As for sony ericsson being a durible phone, mine wasnt at all. The worst was the faceplate. After taking it off and putting it back on once it became extremely loose and was able to shoot it straight off my phone with a flick of my finger. It would also fall off in my pocket and almost lost the faceplate several times. There was a defect in my internal screen and the external screen constantly accumulated dust because of the bad seal of the face plate and every week my phone screens turned a blue color and wasnt able to get it off wi...

I hate Moto phones! I have the V710, and this phone is a truly peace of junk!

My friend, all Motorola phones are junk. I just wish the rest of the free world would see that. I have owned the MPX 220, the V400, and the V551. The V551 is the only one that I didn't want to throw in the trash, but it wasn't that impressive either. I don't care what anyone says, Sony Ericsson phones are superb. They are rivaled only by Nokia as far as reception goes.

I have both the T637 and MPX220 I like the Moto better featurewise. The only thing the Moto does not do is allow voice dial from the BT headset. The BT pairing and use on the Moto is much better and automatice. with the SE you have to do a rediscover and pair each time you want to use it. Pain in the A$$.

The SE has the better contact list but the MP3 ringtones are the bomb. No funky midi playbacks of tunes.

The signal reception/bars are also better with the MOTO. I really don't know what the issue is with the MPX for many people. I have a friend who sold his V3 to get the 220 and did not look back.

I must recant my previous statement about the RAZR. The initial shipments were garbage, but I decided to buy one (only after seeing the price drop significantly). The new V3s are much improved and I'm very happy with my purchase (although the Sony Ericsson S710 is still at the top of my wish list).

I guess aircraft grade aluminum and magnesium only go so far. LOL.

I mean for a phone the thickness of a grahm cracker...i mean feature-wise the only thing the moto has that the z500 doesnt have is bluetooth, and i think the razr doesnt have video capture. the z520 is a good improvment...but all in all, as the owner of z500, i'm really satisfied. the faceplate does come loose on ocassion, but thats it with my phone. i used my dad's V551 when he got his MPX220 (POS!!!) and i wasn't impressed, its the tiny things like vibrate THEN ring or that annoying sound that you need to get to to get the phone to silent, and the loose flip...thats the one thing i LOVE about the z500...that flip is bullet proof, snaps and just stays in place...ive actually lost calls on the V551 because of the weak hinge.

yea that is another problem, the reception. Many people said that the reception was supurb with this phone the only catch is that you cant make and hold a call with out for or 5 bars. Not to mention the internet. It wouldnt connect with 4 bars I needed 5. On my e715 samsung that i configured for cingular, i can place a call with 1 bar and can go online quickly with 2. What is the point of edge if you cant log on to the internet in the first place!!! 😳

Are you referring to the z500? Because if so, you must have had a bad unit. Sony Ericssons and Nokias hold the best reception of any phones out there, and I personally have 4 different SEs and all have been able to hold a call with usually as little as one bar. The only problems come when the phone hits no bars (which is EXTREMELY rare) and the call might fade for a second but you can easily keep a call with as little as one bar.

i definitely have to agree with those that approve of sony ericsson. i've worked for cingular for over a year now, and i've dealt with almost every single one of the phones we sell (except for the samsung P207 and the LG A7110...neither of which i was too impressed with).

i can honestly say that when any customer asked me what my opinion is of a particular phone, i always direct them to either sony ericsson or nokia. there's really no competition anymore. they both have the best reception, the fastest technology, and the best features. motorola has chosen fashion over function so many times it makes me sad to see that they are still in business. RAVR? give me a break. i could sneeze that thing into pieces. i backed up over my nokia WITH ...
