Only good if Verizon doesn't cripple it

I have a iPhone with AT&T and I love it, the only way I would switch back to Verizon is if they don't screw it up

Somewhat doubt that, as the latest SmartPhones on Verizon have not been crippled like before.

VZW sure does cripple smartphones, many smart-phones are still lacking the ability to use a free GPS service, there are still many BT profiles that are taken out from there gsm cousins. Oh and they hide their service data.
so third party apps can't see the signal strength, battery life etc. oh and all smart-phones for vzw lack Java.

VZW is getting better but they do still mess with settings so they can generate extra revenue.

Most of these complaints can be fixed with hacks, but my point is that these are things that should be already included but they are not.

Oh and for those who say that VZW says they are unlocking GPS, thats all well and good but they still will be blocking aGPS, which dramatically improves the "lock" ti...

Hate to burst bubbles here but I have to agree that Verizon does change a lot of devices from the factory specs. I've been with Verizon for 9 years and the last "regular" phone I had was the Motorola E815 because it didn't run the same stupid UI that all the other phones had. I hated the fact on that UI the first thing you saw was all the Get It Now junk. When it was time to upgrade then I moved to an XV6700 smartphone and then onto my current device which is an XV6800 and I love the fact that I can add what I want- even to the point of getting the GPS to work (Google Maps, Live Search, IGuidance etc).

I'm due for my new every two in October and I was looking at the Touch Pro and noticed how slow it seemed. I went into a Sprint store f...

I'd like to see that in writing where it says its illegal, vzw has yet to release an updated firmware for the i910 its coming but who knows when really. There are also a lot of smart-phones such as the Motorola Q9 that also don't have this unlocked yet, all of there smartphones have the e911 gps working fine and the have the vz navigator working, but true gps or even aGPS is not still not available on all smart-phones that vzw currently has.

Verizon figures why should you get the milk for free (Windows Live Search, Google Maps and 3rd party programs that you can load onto your device). They would rather have you buy the whole cow (VZ Navigator at 9.95 per month in this economy).

The other thing is that I wonder if people who buy the dumb phones would complain if the gps functions were unlocked since they aren't able to load software onto thier devices and are forced to use VZ Navigator.
