This sucks for at&t in a huge way. I see tons of people all the time come in to my store having verizon... nothing is wrong with their service, but they wan't the iphone. NOW, that they will have the iphone, who will ever need or want to switch? at&t better think of something, fast. 🤣

And I'll be one of those people. I (and my friend who switched with me) will be switching back to Verizon if they release one for the Verizon network. The only reason I would EVER come to AT&T is for the iPhone. So, if Verizon released it as well, I wouldn't even have to think twice. The main reason is because AT&T's network is just SO BAD! I drop calls left and right and my calls are constantly distorted. When I had Verizon, I NEVER dropped a call ONCE. If I did, it was from the other person who had AT&T. And my calls were always crystal clear even with one bar of service. Can't say that with AT&T. You have to have like 4 bars to have a good call.

I don't agree at all, if your service with at&t sucks its because you have a bad phone with a bad sim. There 3G phones and there 3G network is very extensive now and offers great voice quality then it used to. I admit some of there phones had issues, AT&T QA's is kinda dissapointing but if you get a good phone you will get great service. People never even knew wat dropped calls where until AT&T made that announcement and at that point people where already with at&t and don't even remember exactly how it wa when they had verizon. Also your opinion is completly bias.

AT&T might just be bad in your area who knows but AT&T in general is a great company and if verizon has the iphone with CDMA then that will be a huge let down for its customer...

I have a cousin on AT&T, but doesn't have the iPhone, and complains about dropped calls. This is in Lake & Porter Counties of Indiana. They have plenty of spectrum, but even after then Cingular bought out AT&T Wireless in 2004, they never resolved the handoffs between PCS & cellular, & vice versa.

For Indiana, AT&T has 3G in most of Lake & Porter Counties, but once out of those counties (since there's no real major city other than Chicago), then 3G is restricted to major cities of South Bend/Elkhart, and a few surrounding communities, Lafayette & west Lafayette, Fort Wayne and a few surrounding cities, and the immediate Indianapolis metropolitan area. I don't know about southern Indiana. So 3G for AT&T is terrible coverage wise in Ind...

They had a year rollout ahead of us, AT&Ts putting a lot of money out there this year to improve on 3G coverage, trust me people complain about verizon's coverage to, peoples perception gets voided when one company always tells you they have awsum coverage while one says no dropped calls. I had verizon and i had no service in my basement and dropped calls in that area. AT&T i never experience issues with them in my area, its perception, area and at times the phones. Most people don't even know what a dropped call is and with people having the perception that verizon is the best, whenever they have a dropped call they blame it on the person they was on the phone with without really know exactly what scenario would explain who actually dropped...

when did you work with them? before they had 3G? AT&T yea may treat there reps a lil old fashion but they pay well and get the job done. Really thinking a CDMA Iphone will do good on verizon better then AT&T then your knowledge is very limited and it means you haven't been with the company long enough.

What are you talking about partna! I have worked for both ATT & Verizon and I know crap when I see it. Can we say strike anyone ha ha...I hope they strike and ATT goes down. Anyway an I-phone will come to Verizon with LTE not sorry ass HSPA or HSPA+ or even beta-wimax. So please don't say I have limited knowledge when you don't know me.

"...if your service with at&t sucks its because you have a bad phone with a bad sim."

This is an interesting comment to make while defending AT&T against Verizon. Since very few Verizon phones use SIM cards they totally eliminate the chance of getting a "bad sim". Also if you are in a metropolitan area ATT&T might be awesome, but honestly this company is a joke. Service is awful, customer service is awful, plans and marketing are painfully outdate. For my age group at least (18-24) ATT&T is not "cool", it's old and worn out. Kinda like an old girlfriend, or car. I'd rather have Sprint, T-mobile, and Verizon Wireless before I'd have AT&T again. The Iphone is the new RAZR, everybody has one and it's just not that cool anymore. (BB STORM, B...

You say are plans are outdate but AT&T plans are the same price and same amount of minutes as verizon, before you all did the Call any 5 or 10 people free thing we had rollover as a advantage at no additional cost so if anybodies plans are outdated it was verizons and even now they still are. We have the BB Bold with people like more then the storm, we will be getting a better blackberry then the curve most likly, we will probaly get Google phones before verizon and the palm pre eventually everybody will have not to mention sprints absolutely the worst network to have the pre.

In no way am I going to go all out and say "at&t has the best network" blah blah blah, just because I work for them. Because honestly, I don't feel like they do. BUT, I think it just depends on peoples experience with different carriers. at&t works well for me. I get a dropped call maybe twice a month, and it's always in the same spots. My co-worker has sprint (so did I about a year ago) and honestly, neither him or I ever had that many problems with them. You say customer service with at&t is horrible... my brother and his wife are about to switch from Verizon to at&t simply because of Verizons customer service, not because of their service. They love Verizon other than that. So I mean, it really just depends on your experience. For someone...

I've had my own horror storied with Verizon Wireless... and I'll take Nextel service over them. Their store 'lost' my cancellation (even through I had my copy and was cancelled 2nd dayt of service!) and then attempted to keep billing me (handsets were returned to the store!), sending collections, attempting to charge ETF.
I eventually had to have the BBB step in and threaten a lawsuit.
Their CEO would have to kiss my a$$ on national TV before I'd use them again.

I am usually not one to jump into a heated debate, but I can not let one glaring mistake go without correction:

Currently I have the LG Voyager and love it. Many times my daughter who is almost 5 yrs old likes to watch her favorite spongebob or dora videos (using EVDO-data only FYI) when I may get a call. Well IT DOES NOT GO STRAIGHT TO MY VOICE MAIL, but RATHER MY PHONE RINGS and I can answer it. WHEN MY CALL IS DONE, then the video picks up right where it left off. Same thing when I am surfing the Internet on my Voyager and I get a call, I answer it (unless I choose not to) and then resume my surfing when I am done with the call. Never missed a call while using EVDO based features on my Voyager.

I am sure that is how a CDMA IP...

Elnegro54, I have to disagree with you. I've had my iPhone replaced plenty of times, my best friend has the iPhone and he drops calls in the same areas and my family who has AT&T (but not iPhones) have the SAME issues. Explain that to me. It's AT&T's NETWORK! If you look at the state of Michigan on AT&T's coverage viewer, they are abysmal!!! Since 3G is only in the metro areas, it is of no use to me! Verizon covers every single nook and cranny of places that I go and covers them with their 3G network! Why wouldn't I want Verizon's network? I know it's a GSM/CDMA thing because they both operate in the 850 MHz band in the areas I go, but AT&T actually has MORE TOWERS than Verizon, but covers LESS AREA! And the other problem with GSM is that in...

that opinion is also bias because at&t doesn't cover your area with 3G you can't even supply enough valid information to support the argument. Also your off topic, I didn't say AT&T was the best but I said the Iphone is better on AT&T with the advantages 3G has over EVDO espically in speeds. Verizon may cover your area but there is areas verizon doesn't cover that AT&T do's Also the iPhone honestly doesn't get the best reception compared to most of AT&T's phones. The iphone jus like the blackberry storm had to get updated a few times to improve on how it picked up on at&ts reception so honestly the iPhone is probably the worst phone to state how good at&ts network is compared to phones like the blackberry bold and samsung eternity. If the iP...

What I'm saying is that doesn't that tell you something about their network if people who do have regular AT&T phones (and I also used to have AT&T a while back with the exact same issues so I know what I'm talking about) are experiencing problems as well? And what does that tell you when AT&T actually has more towers than Verizon in my county yet has more dropped calls and more distortion. Yes, AT&T may not have a 3G network and probably won't for years to come, but the fact of the matter is, Verizon currently serves my area as well as MANY surrounding areas in Michigan MUCH better than AT&T. I'm also implying that others may do the same thing. I believe 40% of iPhone purchases were new to AT&T? Well, I could imagine if Verizon got the iPho...
