Samsung was supposed to do their first Android phone for Sprint. I guess technically they still can in the US...

This would be another great step for Sprint to acquire an Android handset. I feel though that Dan Hesse initially turning android away(and for good reason) might have delayed any launch on Sprint's network. However, Sprint has announced an Android by the end of the year. Maybe second half of the year. I think the release of the Palm Pre is the big push. I just can't see Sprint offering two premier OS's at the same time. Very sensitive move.

June 21 was the tentatie android launch date for Sprint. though they I still had not seen a phone to accompany that date, its definitely a Samsung Android. I think 2 new exciting "firsts" (Palm Pre and Samsung's first Android) at the same time would be exactly what they need to take the shine off the new iphone product launch in June. Maybe the Pre in May, then to keep Sprint on everyones brains, launch the Android at the same time as the new iPhone.
