expand 3g before speed

I wish at&t would expand the 3g coverage they already have to more places before speeding it up. Sprint and Verizon have much larger and more reliable 3g footprints and bandwidth, more than double that of at&t so they can advertise the largest 3g network. at&t has the fastest so they can advertise that, but it is so spotty at best even in major metro areas..

You're going to have to provide proof of that "double" claim. Sprint's and Verizon's footprints are not that much larger than AT&T's unless you're just looking at square miles covered (which is basically meaningless), and even then they're not double.

AT&T's coverage is just as solid as any other carrier's.

I'm talking about 3g data coverage only not voice. at&t has much wider voice coverage than both Verizon and Sprint.Go to at&t's data coverage map, although they won't let you see the 3g coverage for the whole country, you have to zoom in to a metro area. Example: On Sprint and Verizon you can drive from Brownsville Texas to Oklahoma City and stay in 3g. att has mostly metro coverage.

att map, you must zoom in to see 3g, the coverage they show on the national map is 2g edge http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/

Sprint map click on data and it will show 3g coverage.in orange. fyi, mostly the same map for Verizon with the Sprint, Altel Verizon 3g roaming agreement.. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?languag e=EN

First of all Sprint has around only 25 metro areas covered with the latest CDMA EVDO Rev A. AT&T has more than 350 metro areas with 3g coverage and Verizon has around 375. Second of all, AT&T already has the fastest 3g network, and with these upgrades they will leave verizon and sprint in the dust, thus forcing verizon to change their entire network to LTE (GSM technology).

Man yall are all crazy. Verizon is the better choice out of the 5gb plans. Every Consumer reports, more customers like Verizon and it works better PERIOD. Verizon does have TWICE the coverage as ATT.

Overlap Verizon's 3g coverage versus ATT's 3g and HSPA PLEASE. Then you can all have the facts. Its MORE than double coverage versus ATT. There are 2 little dots where ATT has 2 markets that Verizon isnt in and thats a area in Oklahoma and West Virgina. Your gonna get 2 to 2.4 Mbps.

There are gonna be more people in the nation that are going to be able to get Verizon Broadband mobile that wont be restricted to that highway and major city. This is about everyone, not about a select few areas. No carrier is gonna leave any carrier in the ...

Very good post! You are right Verizon is top dog in the area covered and actual speed not claimed or peak speed. What’s the point in having a Ferrari and only being able to drive it in your driveway?
