I will wait till it's in the stores so I can see it up close and get to play with it. But touch screen phones are just so damn impractical for a number of reasons:

1. You have to hold it with both hands to use it thus making it impractical to use while driving.

2. You have to look at the screen while using it. Not very intuitive.

3. Battery life is reduced by having a screen constantly being backlit while in use.

So I'll see and decide when I play with it.

Smartphones are not generally known for their ease of use while driving or spectacular battery life

Forgive me for being so direct, but do you actually close your eyes or something when you use phones? Most people do look at their screens while using their phones.

Also the Touch Diamond has been out on another carrier for a while so you can play with them now.

I never recommend this. A bad accident can always interrupt a good texting session! I hate when an accident interrupts that.

smartphones are in different league compared to basic phones. they priority function is a portable computer and just secondary as phone.

1. since they're more of a portable computer first, it's made to have features and inputs of a computer which typically more navigation around the features and a two hand input on the hardware / virtual keyboard. if they prioritize it's phone feature, then it's better to just remove the OS to become more user friendly for dummies.....

2. it's a preference. some people prefer a touch screen and some don't. neither of the two weighs better productivity than the other...

3. lot's of people doesn't know that you can adjust the backlight of smartphones for you to see the screen clearly or save power by ...

Not that one should drive and text, anyway. It sounds like good phone, minus the keyboard.
