screw apple, they make crappy OS and even worse desktops, the Iphone is crap you can;t even multi task on it. and Apple outsources almost all their production so your U.S.A all the way crap is just that, crap. check your facts before you start spouting off your mouth. Nokia is a great company. and though this is a blow to production I like to think that it means better quality phones from them. NOKIA ALL THE WAY!!

This is America if you don't like it GET OUT!

APPLE= Amazing! Nokia can't even make a capacitive screen let alone a device that can turn the wireless industry upside down! the iPhone out sells any single Nokia phone by a long shot. Not to mention everyone likes the iPhone for web surfing

For starters, we're told that the biggest web surfing phone on each US carrier is a touchscreen model, and breaking that down, we find that the iPhone, Nokia N70 and BlackBerry 8300 take the top three spots (in order of mention) globally.

iPhone= Apple= USA= AMAZING!!!

c'mon mur, you spout your patriotic babble w/o the facts, outsourcing is a fact and that's what apple does. many companies do, cuts cost and all the other crap. i'll admit, i personally am not a fan of the iphone and feel it's overrated, but that's just my opinion. do you see the difference. if you want american, then go get a rock, because actually finding one mfg company that's 100% american made, well, you have more of a chance w/that rock making a call...
oh, and remember that nokia is the world's largest cell phone maker, with a market share over 30%. so, until apple can top that, they're still just a niche in the bigger scheme of things and from what i've seen, they just keep on bringing the same phone to market w/improvements that, h...

all I am saying is when the money is spent for the iPhone ends up in an American's hands. Soon after that the US government gets the taxes and keeps their greedy hands out of my pocket. All I'm saying is that American products are good for Americans.

I happen to like both the iPhone, and most of Nokia's products. As far as the iPhone goes, its made in China.

I do own an iPhone and e71.

Correct me if I'm wrong but someone told me once that Nokia opened up a manufacturing plant in CA a few years back for the sole purpose of developing and making handsets strictly for the US market. Isn't that were the Nokia 6555 for ATT came from? Is that wrong information? I'm not sure if that's correct or not. Can someone enlighten me?

werll, w/limited search, Nokia does have some mfg done stateside, i didn't really find any specific locations, but they are very active in cali. between their design ctr that sponsors design explorations at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and different coop efforts w/Berkeley and the University of California they're seem to be contributing...

on an interesting side note (at least for me) Nokia Latin America offices are located in FL, the only offices NOT located in the area the represent considering that Latin America is typically considered more Central America. off the subject, but then what posts on ANY forum stays on track for very long...

the Nazi party translates as National Socialist German Workers’ Party... your the one in the Union and you voted a Socialist as president. The Nazi party has ZERO conservative views EXCEPT for the fact that Hitler thought abortions were wrong (although he believed strongly in eugenics) but then again so did we during the 20's - 30's.

i wouldn't say POW! because all that is, is conjecture... would nokia have 30% of market share if the handsets weren't selling? nope, apple has been out for only 3 years, right now, out of any single handset it is the best seller (in america). sales have dropped elsewhere, not due to the global economic climate, but because the novelty is wearing off. of course, if you look at what's avail elsewhere, i'm not surprised.
again, i'm not trying to start an argument over it, it's not my cup of tea, but it doesn't make me want to fanboy against it. nope, i just use facts. and actually, i was doing nothing more than point out your lack of facts murfer.

What are you talking about, sales are going down because a new iPhone is coming this June!

the iPhone is the single best selling handset offered by any manufacturer world wide...

50% of the data used in the US is done by the iPhone. Thats because the iPhone offers THE BEST internet performance on the market! Sure it doesn't offer Flash but it has the best UI any browser has EVER had!!!

Your just upset with your $750 deposit with at&t and your not qualified for an iPhone

what are you talking about my $750 deposit? but that is the type of response i would expect from a fanboy. i don't like the iphone, i'll admit, i feel it is overrated. that, though, is just my opinion. i have no statistics to back that up, but if you look at, say the sales overseas (japan and europe) sales have dropped, of course they've been offering free iphones (both8 and 16's) as retention and w/2yr agreements w/specific plans in the uk. again, that doesn't mean it's not a good phone, it's just not the phone for me and obviously, much of the world. it's a nifty novelty that they'll charge another outrageous price for when the new one comes out w/minimal hardware changes...
it will appease the masses in the us market, but just like the m...

How can't you understand to 6th grade economics? The phone is built in China because they don't have to deal with union workers making $30-$70 an hour for a job that requires a non-educated button pusher to make sure the place doesn't burn down. When you buy an iPhone at the store ALL of the money stays stateside except for the money sent to pay for manufacturing. The US government gets the Tax revenue because the company is based out of the U.S.! Nokia is based out of Finland, therefore when you buy a Nokia you take money out of the hands of American's and you pay the Finish taxes.

I am in a union and I don't make $30-$70 an hour. When you hire union you are getting someone well trained and hard working. If I didn't pull my weight the manager would call the union and they would replace me.You really have no idea what you are talking about, bet you didn't finish college, content in your minimum wage job.

I hope you know Apple outsources production of almost everything. The only think I know that Apple actually makes itself are some mobile chips it makes from a recent acquisition.

Asus makes a many, if not all, Apple branded products.

Apple is a brand, not a manufacturer.

According to the data I've seen, Blackberry is the #1 selling pda phone. Business people don't usually buy the iphone from us because of the limits on email attachments and the fact that it is an entertainment device more than a pda. The other problem is the iphone is only on att while Blackberry is offered on all major carriers world wide. att's 3G coverage still needs lots of work. Niki we have with 2 of my carriers T-Mobile and att, Nokia never really made great cdma phones but I sell many times more Nokia's than iphones, more likely because we offer them free..The iphone can't reach the number 1 selling phone spot unless they open it up to other carriers..like when the Moto Razr was #1, everyone sold it.
