This isn't new
First I didn't notice anyone saying anything about how the the article title is AT&T to Sell Contractless iPhones for $400 Premium. Then followed by$599 and $699 (8GB and 16GB, respectively.
I don't know if everyone doesn't already know this you can purchase an iPhone 3G from the Apple Store new without a contract for $499 (8G) $599(16G). Period my friend didn't tell me this or any of lame made up stuff people say. I personal did it not more then 2 weeks ago for my little brother. Now if you can't get to an Apple Store there are walmart and best buy everywhere. I don't know if Best Buy sells them out right but Walmart will for $550(8G) or $650 (16) agai...

that "nice data plan" eh? for that same $30, sprint's "nice data plan" includes your unlimited text, picture, video messaging, true turn by turn navigation, streaming tv & radio.
you can still think that $150 for unlimited is "nice" if you want though 🙂.
besides you can keep your iphone, i'll take my palm pre anyway.
ps i'm not an iphone hater, i gotta admit i love that browser and app store.

I wouldn't call Palm a company with a weak Product line. The weakest phone they had was the Centro which is probably the only Palm phone you have messed with. But Palm Started the PDA phone Craze and even today with the 755p the 800w and the 850 pro Palm is a much better pda than blackberry and the Palm Pre will do amazingly for the simple fact that you pull from and on going source not start stop features like most other phones.

#1 - Hey Palm, What have you done for me lately? Some unknown phonescooper who loves their old Palms can't overcome the fact that the company is in serious trouble and has had issues for some time with their product line,
#2 - I OWNED one of the first Palm Pilots as well as an Apple Newton and many other first generation PDA devices.
You might become a bit more educated about your positions if you are going to accuse people of only knowing about the Centro.

When the Pre becomes available you will have a point, at present it isn't. All we have is speculation and some nerdogeek youtube video's of it. And I would like it to be good, iphone, pre, g1 all push innovation and features for us the consumer.
