Isn't unlimited data 60?

If unlimited data is $60 for the usb data modems, and unlimited data is 30 for pda phones, 10 more a month for truly unlimited data might make sense. If AT&T knows that is what it is for, then it will prob stay around. otherwise... Also the economy of scale works here. Imagine. you get 60/mo or 50/mo and don't have to deal with all headache of collections/phone subsidies/warranties/CS. pretty sweet deal for AT&T.

Since August 31st of last year, the Data Connect plan for usb modems caps at 5gb, and that's been a hard cap (as in: you're billed for everything over 5gb) since September. Anyone who activated before that would still have an unlimited plan.

There's no official explanation, but my educated guess (I work in billing at AT&T) is that A) everyone else was doing it (I think Verizon started with the 5gb cap, and AT&T & Sprint followed) and B) AT&T profits big time for every schmuck who goes over by a few hundred bucks then pays their bill like nothing happened. I have first-hand knowledge that there are a lot of these people.
