"The traffickers would buy T-Mobile
pre-paid phones in bulk, open them,
unlock them, and then sell them at a
higher cost to unsuspecting customers."

What kind of delusion is this author under? The buyers KNOW what they are getting. They are getting an unlocked phone for less than the inflated no-contract price all carriers try to charge.

This text is making it sound like the end-users are somehow getting tricked.

What it comes down to is another company is making profit off of T-mobile and they don't like it. It's just somebody abusing the system to benefit themselves.

But please don't presume that EVERYONE who purchased phones from them knew they were originally sold from t-mobile and not under warranty now. Customers are dumb and we all know that (those of us who sell phones at least). Every day I have at least one customer coming in saying they had free incoming calls when they signed up and T-mobile changed they rate plan so thas why that went over... when in all actuallity their friend with nextel had free incoming and they jsut assumed they had it as well.
