Clearwire just announced yesterday that 8 more cities will be up and running WiMax by the end of this year and 5 more in 2010. They also stressed the economy may delay some of the rollout. But currently, they are aggressively proceeding with WiMax and maintaining their goal of covering 120 million people by the end of 2010! The cities are as follows:

2009:
Chicago
Atlanta
Philadelphia
Dallas
Las Vegas
Seattle
Honolulu
Charlotte

2010:
New York
Boston
Washington
Houston
San Fransico

Baltimore and Portland are already live. 15 major metropolitan areas is pretty good. Definitely, a nice little footprint if they can stay course. Clearwire's stock however has taken a beating. I do hope for a great outcome on this rollout.
