What idiots are running Nokia? Has it dawned on them they're getting their butts handed to them?

Have these guys heard of 'iTunes?' Or Limewire? Or any of the other 8 million sites people go to to get 'free' music? Have these guys missed the memo that Apple controls the digital pay-for-music scene singlehandedly and nobody in this country gives a rats ass about a crappy proprietary service that is tied to a (not-an-iPhone) cell phone that is only good for a year?

This service is stupid on so many levels I don't know where to begin. No way in hell is anyone going to pay more money upfront for a Nokia because it comes with a 'subscription' service that replicates what someone can do for free.

Call me an "idiot" but not everyone wants to pay 99c for itunes or download from a site that can get you a virus when they could potentially download them for free with their new nokia phone.

Yeah, you want to know why you're an "idiot.." because you'd essentially rather pay a flat fee whether or not you purchase music. Why don't you save the free for buying music... that you own for LIFE and can now be used on ANY device?

It's like saying "here, you can pay the market rate for this music, or we're going to graft it onto a handset fee whether you use it or not or whether or not our crappy music store HAS the music you want.

Yes that's dumb.

When Express Music store is added to the Nokia Ovi portal it then makes sense. Nokia Ovi is what itunes is to Apple. Ovi allows for the Nokia user to sync contacts, maps, music, photos/video, gaming, calendar, and file storage directly from their phone to the cloud and vice-verse.
The free music for a year and then new is just marketing, maybe good, maybe bad time will tell.
Still at $350 for a S60 touchscreen smartphone with all its features and music for a year, unlocked with no contract many will find that to be a good value.
