Works like a charm everytime..... I have even did it for my business lines. Stop them in their tracks. Do have to give it Verizon for backing up the consumer though

I really, really wish all cell phones had software that you can put a checkmark next to a phone call/txt msg/mms that you don't ever recieve another communication from that #. I'd prefer such software be on the phone itself, and not be carrier dependant.

Well now that in there are all these app stores for different OS's, and Android is an "Open" OS, and next year Nokia is going to open up Symbian hopefully there will be apps for some of the most popular OS's, S60, BB, and others that will enable unwanted us to put a checkmark next to unwanted calls/txt/mms.

Actually, the Samsung Eternity already allows users to do this. 😁

first off, how in the heck did they get the customers numbers? they must have gotten it from Verizon Wireless, if they are calling Verizon customers. so with that said, verizon should be the one to blame for selling them their customers numbers. no good to have a do not call registery when your phone company sells your number off regardless.

Sells them the Numbers then turns around and takes them to court? Naw, I think thats just too simple a answer. Theres more (or less) behind this then just that.

As I mentioned before, If nobody got hurt by this (other then possibly sending a few customers over thier mins) theres no need to blame anyone. The source has been found and actions are underway. This was handled right.

Hi, just thought I would add my 2 cents --- the story states they were using an autodialer which dials all given numbers in any inputted prefix...so they get all available numbers!!!

Prefix or area code? If you mean prefix, my guess is that this may have only affected customers who ported landline numbers to their cell phone with VZW. Still, it would be a mystery as to why at&t customers, as well as Tmo and everyone else didn't get the calls.....

If you mean the area code, then everyone still should have gotten these calls, not just VZW customers.

Its possible other carriers were effected by this but Vzw customers responded the most and Vzw stepped up to take care of it.

Only way to prove that would be:
*Has ANYONE out there other then Vzw Customers experienced this in the time frame mentioned?
