Well I have the Evo and I love it! As far as the kb I came from using a palm treo 750 and also own a pixi, and its true after using the on-screen kb on the Evo for a couple of days there's no need to go back to a physical kb, though it is nice to have the option. I've used the on-screen kb on an iPhone as well and this one tops it.
On the other hand the epic offers that beautiful super amoled and promises better battery life though the battery life on the Evo truly isn't that bad I am a heavy user as I always have WiFi on and am constantly using apps, checking e-mail and surfing the web and I only have to charge my Evo once a day.. which by the way charges QUICK! (Advanced task killer helps)
Ultimately I would say to wait for the epic to come out in stores so u can play with it and compare it to the evo side by side though there's a chance it'll be sold out then if u do chose to buy it. Otherwise you could pre-order it and return it within the 30 day trial period and give the Evo a go. Good luck with your decision
