So lemme get this straight
Sure it's better than an LG Ally, but what isn't? That's like saying it is better than a PCD Quickfire or Motorola Q.
This is just a big bucket of fail. At least I agree with you on the aesthetics of this. Then again, you also whined about the aesthetics of the iPhone 4. A VCR is right twice a day.
Are you worried about bias in Android phone reviews? Fair enough. Android is a very good platform on which to build a phone, so it's easier for manufacturers to earn (and I do mean EARN) a good review without too much interference on their part. But I have seen bad Android phones. The Samsung Behold II, for instance, or the Motorola Devour. These were not good Android phones.
What isn't better than an LG Ally? Well, an LG Fathom, for one. I'd take an Ally over a BlackBerry Curve, too, maybe even a Bold.
Bias isn't the right word. I'm not concerned about bias. But as happened with WinMo phones, the phones got judged by their peers more than on their own merits. Saying it's a good phone by the standards of a Motorola Devour is like saying the Motorola Q was good by the standards of an HTC Apache.
So let's be honest, you've got the Droid 2, a phone that can't pull in half the battery life of the quicker iPhone 4 or feels-quicker Nexus One, has a terrible camera compared to both, is slower than either, and is plagued with serious reception issues and a layer of crapware.
