This doesn't seem like a good idea. If you drop your phone it calls 911? Maybe people will be more careful with their phones!

You can argue both sides. I think this is a great idea for those elder folks. Walking the dog around the park and slip on some ice? hard fall and possibly hurt your wrist making it even more difficult to get up? This could help save someones grandma and grandpa from crawling to safety.

What about the parent who is cooking dinner and the child grabs the phone and gives it a good toss across the room, off the arm of the couch, over the table with the lamp, bounces off the rear wall and lands behind the back of the TV (or radiator)? Not only will it call 911 but you will be in the kitchen cooking dinner and wont know.
