Resistive. Windows Mobile 6.x (including 6.5) does not support capacitive.

Rich, have you messed around with any WinMo 6.5 devices? If so, what are your thoughts thus far.

Btw, I don't know what the deal is with people, there have been so, so few comments on all these big news items, the Acer handsets, the Samsung Omnia HD, I don't know what the deal is so, so few comments on these big news articles.
I am very dissapointed in my fellow Phone Scoopers.

The original Pro and Diamond support both features which was something I like about them. The touch screen is resistive but the hard buttons below the screen are capacitive. The phone uses it to zoom in and out on things like pictures, messages, and Opera but 3rd parties have taken advantage of the capacitive area on the phone to make some cool apps. The newer phones look like they will be resistive touch screens but the zoom feature looks like it will respond to a capacitive touch like the originals have.

Actually your wrong! But this does not surprise me. The screen is not capacitive but the phone is! The lower half of the screen is capacitive and responds to a gentle touch. You wouldn't know that unless you owned the phone. An example is the zoom feature on Opera uses the capacitive touch pad to zoom in and out. You can use this to zoom in on photos as well.

The question was "these phones are AMAZING do they have resistive or capacitive screens?"

Screens pinhead. Not the control keys.
