The introduction of the Blue Earth phone with solar-powered charging marks the most important innovation in wireless devices since bag phones lost the bag and car phones lost the car.

It's an absolutely brilliant achievement!

This phone could be the first of a new generation of increasingly non-toxic and environmentally responsible products.

Meaningful communication is intrinsic to our experience as humans. It becomes even more meaningful when communication connects us to our surroundings in a healthy and productive way.

Hats off to Samsung for their genius to create an object which embodies that synthesis.

Thumbs down to flippant and shallow remarks by those with screen names referring to explosives, dead animals and Rush alb...

Sorry Rush album guy. I meant someone else.

You posted an excellent link:

Wow! Current CO2 levels are 27% higher than at any time within the last 650,000 years.

And all that the dead animal guy has to say is a myth about grapes and vikings?

wahahaha!!

Ever make the connection between Tom Sawyer, Digital Boy and 21st Century Schizoid Man?

I see, so in order to meet your approval one must apparently buy into the lies being foisted upon the world by the Global Warming alarmists.

You're making assumptions about me that are wrong.

The alarmist's lies make it more difficult to convince people to be ecologically sound. Why would anyone with a brain support policies that are based on lies?

Give people the truth and they will make the right decisions. Give them lies and they might do what you want, but they also might just lie about it right back at you.

Because the production and use of mobile phones creates some of the most intensive inputs into the carbon cycle, a small reduction by a new generation of phones would have a large effect.

In addition to the previously posted link the the NOAA site, please take a few minutes to read these:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_cycle »

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/globalwarming/holocen ... »

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitch_cycle »

The utter gibberish from dead animal guy attempts to be deceptive and narcissistic but is so unintelligible as to fail even at that.

Why is it that you are satisfied and placated by lies? Why don't you insist on the truth?

Furthermore, why do you assume that anyone who does insist on the truth is automatically against you?

You didn't consider that possibility, did you? No, you'd rather follow the standard Global Warming Alarmist policy and slander anyone who doesn't buy the lies.

I guess that demonstrates who you really are, doesn't it?

Don't be brainwashed by the lies. Learn the truth and make your own decisions.

Here, I'll even provide a link for you. Assuming you can digest this much information.

And to make my point even clearer, I'll link from a Global Warming Alarmist site to demonstrate how unclear the Alarmist point of view really is.

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/1 ... »

If you have time, read the book they're arguing about.

The point is that the Alarmists have no proof. They have theories and they have (wildly inaccurate) climate models, but in the end all they have is a hypothesis.

*IF* the Alarmists are correct, and that's a HUGE if, then we *might* have a problem. But rather than explaining the truth, the Alarmists would rather spout about doomsday and how we have to...

On an unscientifc note, everyone that I have spoken to is overwhelmingly excited by the prospect of a solar-powered mobile phone!

The fact that it is made of recycled plastic without brominated fire-retardant is an achievement that deserves equal enthusiasm.

On a more scientific question, reliable data indicates that CO2 levels are 27% higher than at any time in the last 650,000 years. That time span includes several warming and cooling cycles. Additionally CO2 levels have been rising in an exponential curve in the last 100 years.

As our population is also increasing and generating greenhouse gases exponentially because of industry, agriculture and deforestation, a correlation cannot be discounted.

the facts speak for themselves...

And yet, somehow, you don't find it puzzling that the Global Warming Alarmist establishment seems to think that CO2 is ONLY NOW driving the warming cycle we're experiencing?

Your own data admits that the earth has been warming and cooling for the last 650,000 years. But somehow, suddenly, NOW it is because of CO2 that humans are producing?

And btw, there is also reliable data that indicates that CO2 levels have been significantly higher than current levels many times throughout history.

All the facts. Not just the ones...

An excellent app for this phone would be a timer to remind someone to take their medication.
